Well that´s some lousy system if people can´t communicate during an emergency. More and more this country is looking like a frigging banana republic. WTF do we pay those exorbitant rates for if we can´t get service when we really need it. I´m thoroughly disgusted.

I believe that the goddamned technology that BushCo is steering that hurricane with has EVERYTHING to do with this.

I also belive it´s DELIBERATE.

The goddamned government has installed those goddamned towers all over the goddamned country at taxpayers expense and if they aren´t cell phone towers then goddammit I want to know just WTF they are.

Didn´t that also happen immediately to New Orleans right when Hurricane Katrina came? Only they said it was FEMA´s doings. Is FEMA there in Houston now?

Yes FEMA is in Houston. The storm hasn´t hit yet and there´s no communications? WTF is going on? You´d think that NOW people would need to make arrangements to get out. Busy signal I can understand, completely down is BULLSHIT!

I asked because shutting them down, doesn´t stop them being blown down or thrown about, so why not let them run until nature brings thenm down?

Cell phone systems are kinda like "fractional reserve banking" systems or "just in time inventory". That is, the networks bank on the fact that only a small x-percentage of people use the network at any given time. Works great when "normal usage patterns" are serviced.

The banks rely on this too: if all the people closed their bank accounts and demanded cash on the spot, they´d be fucked, they only carry enough "cash" for "normal" demand and maybe a percent or two more, that´s it.

Cell phone networks bank on the fact that most people are only on them once in a while, and while they still charge exorbitant rates, they can minimize capital outlays on new equimpent.

Of course, during an emergency, everybody wants to use them, and they´re fucked.

THey disable communication so people dont find out what Fema goons are really doing to victims. That way EVERYONE´s only source of info is MSNBC(Govt. Defense Contractor), Fox News(Rupert Murdoch/NWO owned Republican controlled)and CNN(Govt´s bitch pretending to be "liberal").
