If everyone was exactly like you would you consider the world a better place? | |

my2centsworth User ID: 1307594 Canada 08/15/2011 11:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We would be living in a respectful world with a lot less curruption and violence ... but, if we were all the same I'm thinking I'd die of sheer boredom! It's the variety in people's opinions and beliefs that gives this world interest for me. GLP is a great example of those differing opinions and beliefs and that is what keeps my interest. I don't look for people with the same beliefs and opinions as I have... I look for people with differing opinions and try to understand where they are coming from "so to speak". I find, I learn a lot when others explain thier stand on issues. Often they have valid points that I hadn't even thought of. Variety is the spice of life for me! |

There wouldn't be any war. There would be more space travel, and science. However the world would lack a very important thing, Variety. We would get bored. That is the spice of life, you never know who you will meet, and what they will do. Anyway this planet is about changing you, not you changing it. You can change it any way you want, drastically if you put your mind to it, but really this is just a test zone, and a school, for all of us. |
Fatstogie User ID: 1315794 United States 08/16/2011 12:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No. If everyone was "exactly" alike the world would be boring and suck. However yea there wouldnt be war, religion, money, marriage.... and the list goes on of useless things we have and do. People would be sexual freaks. Thered be no stds, no one woudl care if their significant other had sex with someone else. Granted it think this utopia was still awesome. But id prefer a lil variety in people. |

Constructive conflict is needed for growth/advancement. Besides, who would I argue with? Let us be thankful we have commerce. Buy more. Buy more now. Buy. And be happy. no vice User ID: 1506746 Australia 08/16/2011 01:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | NO. It would be barren and boring. The differences in us allow for creative, artistic, architectural and a myriad of other ways of looking at things. I wouldn't have been able to build the machinery or instrumentation that other people have dreamed up. I applaud difference. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1504580 United States 08/16/2011 02:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a feeling this might not be good. I have my talents, but I'm a bit lazy and socially I'm not exactly on top of my game. So, in a way, yes - from the wisdom I've gained and the idealism I've fostered, maybe the world would be better if we all had the same mind. However I'm in debt to those before me for my words and thoughts as much as I am to myself. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1504580Wow, sounds contradicting - hell - it'd be a contradicting world as it is right now. I suppose we're all similar? I should say - I have pros and cons like anyone, but I do feel proud of what I've learned in the realms of compassion, tolerance, and passion for a better world. But my point is, I would not be "who I am" right now as "I am" without the ones who have come before me. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1506952 Sweden 08/16/2011 02:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | NO, It would be boring! I like to see the world through the experiences of other people. They show me the Divine in all of its aspects. However, I could do without the Evils. If I could choose one part of myself though; I would like all people to be peaceloving creatures who take care of the planet and all of its inhabitants. Yeah I know; I didn´t change a bit since I was 16. |
