FYI - I just heard it reported that the center of the track path has moved about 40 miles further west (inland).

I can see where Trinity is coming from. I also feel Watcher has to trust the Higher Power and go with it.

If there were more people coming from a purer place and not sinking to the lowest common denominator of their soul, then this would not be an issue. Watcher's gesture would be simply taken at its pure value and appreciated as such.

People trust in a higher power all the time and still get hurt or worse.

The bible even says to be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

God tells us to use our common sense for a reason because some people are just dangerous but you can't tell that right away.

One thing you might think about. If these people come with their trailers, how are you going to make them leave if they refuse. Some of them might be homeless and have nowhere to go. Just saying...

What would happen if something happened to her or her family and this thread is taken as evidence? Would Trinity or the mods be held responsible for not taking this thread down when they first saw it? It is such a shame we have to think like this but bad things happen to good people all the time.

I think what Watcher is offering proves what a wonder person he/she is.

With that being said, this is a very bad idea. Most people want to be good and even people that do bad things alot think they are good, they justify it.

There are a lot of crazies out there and this website gets a lot of hits. How many people have read this thread and what percentage of them have some kind of sadistic nature and we won't even go into how many people may be thieves. I'm concerned about you. Be careful.

Watcher have to say I admire you, wouldn't do as your doing, but I respect your decision to do it. Im sure you and your family are aware of the dangers and will take the action required to protect your family while reaching out to help those in needs. As for those who are being negative in their views, its may be because you ARE a part of the GLP family and would be missed. Keep your head down, and your eyes open!

^What he said^ I actually discussed this with my neighbors and they were more than happy to participate. Furthermore, if we had weekend evacuee guests, I was making plans to send the children away for the weekend so they would not be a factor.

Furthermore, and if you must know...We have a vacant home on our property and a barn (if they do not have a tent) that I was going to put people up in. No one would be staying under the same roof with us! I am no idiot! Just someone trying to offer help so no one here would have to go to the "Superdome", follow?! If the government is this nation's ONLY source of help in a disaster, then we are all dead anyway!

The way I see it, everyone who thought this was a GOOD idea and had kind words to say are people that see the good in others and can be trusted because of the good within themselves. Those of you who think helping strangers in need is a BAD idea because they are only there to harm you are exactly the type of people who would not be welcome and would be turned away at the gate because they see the badness within themselves and expect that same behavior/badness from others.

If you get nothing else from this thread, I want you out there to know that kindness still exists. Not that you would know it to look at the mods of this website, but we do exist! You possess the potential to help others...YOU possess the ability to determine what is and what is not in your best interest...YOU can change this world for the better and not give up to the evils in this world just because everyone tells you the world is evil and are resolved to do nothing about it!

Reminds me of the little family owned ski and trail lodges people run on there own property out in the middle of absolutely nowhere.

Kind helpful people that do not live their life in fear.

I remember about 10 years ago me and my friend were staying at a cabin up in northern NH. We got his truck stuck mudding way out in no-mans land. we walked about 10 miles out of the woods, then another 15 miles to the closest commercial area. We talked to the only guy there about a wrecker to get my friends truck out.

He offered to help us out after he got out of work. He drove us 25 miles to his house picked up his truck and we all drove 25 miles back then all the rest of the way out into the woods to get the truck.

He wouldn't even accept gas money from us.

That's the type of person I am as well, I would have done the same in his shoes.

I know there are "bad" people out there because I used to be too nice and was taken advantage of, not because I would do those same things.

Great comeback, Watcher. Hey, what risks do people take that run a bed and breakfast business from their home, anyway? Do they vett everybody? It takes trust.

There won't be that many takers for this anyway, since all anyone has to do is go maybe 100 miles inland or so and rent a room for the night or two. It's a long drive from the Outer Banks to WNC, about 9 or 10 hrs. The gas alone will eat you up. Anyone desperate enough to drive over the Continental Divide from the east coast better have enough gas money to get there.

I have lived in this state for all my 56 years-I was born in Hurricane Hazel in 1954 in the back of a green Packard because my mom couldn't get to hospital because of downed trees and power lines. I have lived thru 6.

Follow the storm track and keep moving-you'll be fine. Up here in Western NC, if it comes in the Gulf and and up the Mississippi, that's when it kicks us in the ass.

Screw anybody that comes to Watcher's property with the wrong intentions! I am a Reiki 2 and have put a protection up around that property. Watcher's own courage and faith have added another layer to that.
