I promise I won't make you milk a cow! chuckle

But seriously, my home is available for anyone too broke to pay for a hotel stay or anyone who just wants to ride out the storm with fellow GLPers. Let me know if anyone is interested! We are just North of Asheville. Plenty of room!

Go Watcher! Nancy here at Geowild. You have really accumulated some good Karma today! My husband, being the loner that he is, would never let me open my farm up to people. But, if you get overwhelmed with offers, I'm 7 minutes away-call me and I'll take over the grill for you!

I almost wish I HAD to evacuare,Watcher, just because you're so awesome.
 Quoting: Meow...

Tried to give you some 'karma' but no go. Doesn't matter...You're on the right side. I love you. LOTS.
 Quoting: Meow...

Thanks, friend! I think you already gave me a karma point. Good for only one vote per person. But thanks anyway! If this turns into a party you can pretend to evacuate and come hang out with us anyway!

I hope people know I am being serious about this! Hope the hurricane turns out to be just another storm but I plan to make the most of it if not!

Hello from Spartanburg!!

What is your elevation?
In case major SHTF we will head for hills.
 Quoting: Trbl Ivan

Elevation is 2800 feet above sea level. Not sure that is much consolation if we are talking earthquake doom. Flood/Hurricane doom we can manage...earthquake/meteor doom not so much!

You're on! My husband has been giving me some funny looks since he came home from work but he's on board with this, too. He's just afraid he'll wind up sleeping on the hay in the barn! chuckle

If you are 7 minutes away, we need to get together for lunch! :)

You are a great person for opening your heart and home(and your husband must be too)to a ragtag bunch like us.
I have been over taken by the worst feeling i have ever had,i fear that our time is close to the end and i will never see her again.

UUmmmm... loosen up the tinfoil hat, my friend. Even I, the ever cynical Bob know that yer a bit extreme.

Here's the truth: People Want To Be Good.

The problem is, the world is a shitty-ass place. They get twisted around and then create reasons for being selfish. 'Karma', god-said, I have it comming, I have no choice, I need this, I deserve this, Blah Blah Blah.

I've found, time and time again, at least in small groups, all you have to do is take someone by the shoulder at the right time and say,

"I'm not good at allot of things, but I have developed one skill. I can see into a man's soul and see who's good and who's bad. (point) You. You are a good person. Ain't always done good things, but you are. For what it's worth, I believe in you. You are a good person. Now say it."

And badger them into saying they are a good person.

You see, people believe it when I say it, because everyone knows I'm such an ass. When happy Sunshine Rainbow Kitten tells people it, they blow it off.

The funny thing is, I ain't had to lie once.

Thanks for the point. I am not encouraging anyone to give karma points here but that's nice of you!

As for the love of your life, I am married to mine and can't imagine going through what we believe is planned for us in this country/world without knowing he is by my side! If I were you and neither you or your "love" is married to others, I would say go for it! Life is too short...and from what we've read on this website, that may well be an understatement!
