Also Avery county. This is doom lite. I have prepped my place to house dozens. It is ready for doom supreme. Note other GLPers , there will be assistance available in western NC after the shit TRULY hits the fan. I have been doing this since 1999. I recognize that when the nasty nasty goes down there will be safety in numbers and small communities. I have plentiful springs and a 185 acre valley at my disposal, post SHTF, when the non resident neighbors don't care who's camping on their land. Place is a fortress. Few acres of tillable level field.. Faces north, is high up , and gets tons of snow. Lots of easy firewood to be had though. Till the feces hit the wind circulation devise, cheers. Nice gesture watcher. Have a lovely day... |

Thanks for the advice. There will be boundaries/limits for the duration of the stay. Obviously, when the storm passes they will have to go home. I don't consider it "enabling" when they are forced to evacuate because of an incoming natural disaster. I understand being broke and forced to flee...I see this as different than enabling a loser (no offense to your friend! lol) |

This is really nice!!!!! Having evacuated from a hurricane, I can really appreciate your offer. )In Texas, though so I won't need). Hope you get some company and have lots of fun; be safe. A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. Friedrich Nietzsche if I did not feel so sad as I look at them. Sad because they do not know the truth and I do know it. Oh, how hard it is to be the only one who knows the truth! But they won't understand that. We were told this also back then. I just wanted to show the need for limits as you have mentioned above. Believe me when I tell you that "friend" would not take offense at being called a loser because as I discovered he was lacking a conscience. Best to you and yours. |

Watcher ... + infinity Quoting: citizenperth and for anyone missed my post... if you can get a flight... head to an inland town in Queensland Australia called Nanango. The other possibility is a place called Nimbin in Northern New South Wales. That's if TSHTF You all up there keep safe, hug the loved ones... let's hope we're all shills and ride this shit out.... Peace out: Citz: Hi CP, nanango is still too close to the ocean so is Nimbin.. we have started a little group and have been researching safe zones in southeast queensland.. we figure you need at least a 300 km buffer.. minimum.. from the coast.. for the big, really big tsunami's.. Im near nanango and we need to get much further out, the elevation above sea level is seriously not enough.. bunya mountains minimum.. If you're ever over this side of oz drop me a message.. Myrtle Beach here, keeping a close eye on the storm. Live on the waterway. We do have family in Tennessee, but if we did not have a safe haven I would so take you up on your offer! Lived right outside Asheville for a few years, long ago. Beautiful area, wonderful people. Evac orders don't usually cover anyone west of the waterway, but some will decide to leave if this thing becomes a monster. We will stay if at all possible, open door policy here as well. Some of our friends are bringing their instruments and other belongings here while they leave. I belong to the Red Cross chapter so i should be available as quickly as possible after the storm, my husband has to return quickly also, because he has standing orders to be here after any emergency--he is not military, he just provides municipal services for the water industry. He already received his paperwork. On the other hand we do have 3 children, so safety first! It's a fine thing to see humanity in action as it was meant to be! |
