Hi Watcher! I hope you're not mad at anyone thats concerned about your safety. We still think its a wonderful thing that you're doing!

I myself am speaking from my own life experiance. My husband and I used to buy and sell rental units for a living. In the 33 years we've been married, we've owned several hundred of them. In so doing, we've delt with thousands of people. Believe me, people can really fool you! We've been woken up from a phone call from homicide at 4am because the sweet couple we just rented to, and thought the world of, the husband had just bludgeoned the wife to death with a baseball bat. We've been threatened at gun-point, had arsons, and robberies, and the list goes on. Most of these people had us totally fooled. Don't get me wrong, I realize there are alot of good people out there, I'm just more wary because of my own experiance.

That's the SPIRIT!!! I am not trying to be judgmental and I appreciate the concern all of you who think this is a bad idea have expressed but let me give you a perfect example of why we feel the way we do...

Just yesterday, my husband was going to work when he encountered a family from Florida with a large pickup truck and camper literally broken down in the middle of the interstate trying to go over the mountain. He stopped and pulled the truck and camper to safety. When he realized it was a transmission problem that he couldn't fix, he hauled their camper to their destination an hour and a half away with our vehicle so they could begin to enjoy their vacation and then had a wrecker take their truck to a transmission shop for repairs. He is even going the extra mile and is picking their truck up after repairs this weekend and taking it to their campsite (I will follow in our vehicle).

The point is, he could have viewed them as evil people who would have shot him if he stopped and easily decided to pass them by (as most would) or he could have called 911 to let the law enforcement deal with the problem. Because we view people as good until proven otherwise and because we are commanded by God through our faith to help those in need, he stopped. Turns out...they are WONDERFUL people who were very thankful who have invited us to spend the weekend with them at the Bristol motor speedway and we will have friends for life. That's how we roll and that is how everyone should if we expect this world to change for the better!

For those of you are projecting your bad experiences to this situation and cautioning of that possibility, I appreciate your words of warning but we believe in the good in people and have never found people to be inherently evil as we are told they are (aside from TPTB). We have discernment enough to know the difference and those that ARE evil, we bury on the back 40.

The difference is we are armed, I bet they weren't!

Thanks for posting your experiences. We have all heard those horror stories but, all in all, if we don't help ANYONE who needs it because of the one or two (or in your case, three or four) that backfired, then what good are we as a society.

Besides, we are talking about GLPers here. It's not like I am running a public listing on Craigslist or in the classifieds. LOL

All of the naysayers and fear driven peeps who have been so taken aback by what you are offering simply do not understand the nature of the Spirit that you offer and why you do. They do not understand the community of the northern georgia, northern SC, western NC and parts of TN.

There is a deep down and inbred passion for helping those in need. It's almost a commandment if you know what I mean.

I grew up near Travelers Rest. I know your area and where you live. I know you (Even though I have never met you) but I do know you. What your husband did for those stranded vacationers from Florida, none of the naysayers and negative people here will ever understand.

Inviting people to your house is a most gracious offer, I would come myself if I didn't now live in California. I do have a dear friend who lives very close to you, on the hwy from asheville to Mars hill.

Try to be understanding and compassionate for all of the unbelievers, Remember all of the people laughing at Noah.

This will be one of the features in my upcoming documentary on the internet phenomenon called GLP. It's going to be awesome.

I think a lot of people were/are concerned. To post it on a conspiracy site that is viewed all over the world, anyone from any place/city can show up and say they are escaping from the hurricane.---THAT is the concern, it's quite different than picking up a family broke down on the road in that area.

I understand the spirit and I think a lot of people do, it's called naivity. I think after reading her post all these years (always thought it was a she but today wasn't sure) I think she's a wonderful person. After reading her responses for people who were worried, I'd say she's high on good karma and then the come down happened and she's lashing out at anyone who disagrees with her decision. I do feel better that she has a military, base and arsonal to house these people on, although I'm still a little worried. But in her mind that makes me one of the "bad" ones. Go figure.

Wish you luck, Watcher and still think you're a great person even since you've assaulted my character. I'm guessing you're just a little emotional right now. Peace.

Watcher---I know you took a lot of shit today for this, but don't let it get you down. There are a lot of people out there who live their entire lives in fear of what other people MIGHT do. They do not understand what it means to be totally secure. You obviously do. I have read a lot of your posts and you seem to be a great person with a kind heart who gives fantastic advice. And even though I always post as an AC, I have been on here on and off for over a year, so I have read a few things here and there that you have written. Peace.

If we don't have that in a society then all hope is lost. We have become our own worst enemy...that is the tragedy of what has happened here today and exactly what tptb are hoping for.

Faith in humanity is a fleeting thing and those who try to restore that faith are viewed as raving lunatics who are too naive to know any better. I am neither a raving lunatic, nor am I naive but acts of kindness must be so rare that people don't see it for what it is when it is staring them in the face.

I cannot speak for the ^Trinity^, but it seems he was/is simply 'caring for his flock' here at GLP in the way he sees best. Like an older brother would care for his younger sister. That is just my observation though.

Watcher I hope everything goes well. I wish there was even a local bat shit crazy militia that would step in and help you in this case to the keep the crazies at bay in case they come around. Don't let the evil in this world make you think you can't do any good. Might just not be the best idea to advertise this on the WWW for all to see.

Maybe go to a place of need in person, find some families that need help, and give them directions to your place. At least you'd have a better idea who was coming.

Sure you can still offer those things. Just not a on an internet forum to anything and everything that crawls on the planet to come to your home.
