[ link to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov] there looks to have been an alginment sept 25th 1811 the large quake happened dec 16th, but this event lasted for over 1 year. the records are not very good leading up to the main event. even then they are not so scienitic. this was 1811. I have wondered about this before too. there is no way to know if the event was started by the great comet. look at the orbit. just me but, i thnk it would be a large leap to connect this comet. any other research? On Sept 25, 1811 the great comet of 1811 was over 91 million miles above the plane of the ecliptic, so there really wasn't an alignment with anything. AND WHAT MAJOR SEISMIC EVENT HAPPENED ON THAT DATE?? NONE did. WHY?
