Anonymous Coward User ID: 1067996 United States 08/26/2011 08:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | With your understanding of the concepts of supply and demand, I'll just bet you are super wealthy. Quoting: A Nonny Musc Oward 1067996 Who? The person who thinks that increasing the supply to outstrip any possible demand would somehow make an item MORE valuable, rather than less. Value is increased by two things: Short Supply or Panic (Bubble) buying. Gold, for instance, has a limited supply (on earth anyway), but it's not really good for much. So the increase in price at this moment is all panic/bubble buying. If the Moon was suddenly discovered to be pure gold, the gold on Earth would be worth absolutely nothing. $0 dollas. Diamonds are exactly the same. There are plenty of them, but the diamond cartels drive up the price by keeping the supply low and by using Hollywood (and other mass media markets) to promote their product. If cartels did not run the diamond market and people were allowed to just mine and refine diamonds, they would be worth pennies. Literally. They have almost no value other than some industrial uses. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1121571 United States 08/26/2011 10:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is only the second time a planetary mass has been found orbiting a pulsar. The first planetary system outside of our solar system was discovered around a pulsar in 1992. In the case of pulsar J1719-1438, the beams regularly sweep the Earth and have been monitored by telescopes in Australia, Britain and Hawaii, allowing astronomers to detect modulations due to the gravitational pull of its unseen companion planet. [link to news.nationalgeographic.com] The Diamond planet, is a distraction. I believe we are finding more planets, dwarfs, pulsars, comets, asteroids, ect. because we have entered the galactic center. We will see things we have never seen before. If you are ready to be persuaded that the Galactic centre is influencing the Earth but need more scientific proof, then you might want to watch a video by Dr. Paul LaViolette Phd., [link to www.dailymotion.com] or see an article on this the theme of a connection between the Galactic Centre and the Tsunami 2004. [link to www.etheric.com] imho, We are closer to the throne of God Himself in Heaven, and will continue to see an increase of UFOs, planets, dwarfs, pulsars, comets, asteroids, ect. Maybe even planets & Objects made of Gold, Amethyst, Emerald, Jasper, and Pearl! |
nomind User ID: 904314 Canada 08/26/2011 10:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why? If diamond is that abundant, it is not really worth that much anymore eh Probably find such dense carbon objects in the asteroid or oort cloud of our own solar system, even Last Edited by nomind on 08/26/2011 10:35 AM My Interesting Karma messages: - "You are an idiot. Given our current technology it would take 80,000 years to get there give or take a few thousand years. That's based on the fastest space craft we have right now, (The New Horizon Space Probe) |

I just do no get why anyone would waste so much money on the item. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward Though gold is attacked by free chlorine, its good conductivity and general resistance to oxidation and corrosion in other environments (including resistance to non-chlorinated acids) has led to its widespread industrial use in the electronic era as a thin layer coating electrical connectors of all kinds, thereby ensuring good connection.
