Karma point coming your way for excellent execution of "hand on breast" move... very well done indeed.

Edit: Sorry Brief... "The Man" won't let me give you more than one karma point per week

I don't know when it is coming, but I am ready. I think everyone knows it is coming, but some people are in denial. Everyone has had plenty of warning, so if you are not ready, it is your own fault.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

The economic collapse will just be the beginning and YES, it's imminent and could happen at any time.

you guyz all got it wrong, truly, the collapse has already taken place, in super slow mo. Have you not watchd the drop in buying power of the fiat currencies of the world, esp the U.S. so-called dollar particularly since 1971? (And the rise in PM, such as gold? and silver? I bought some silver in 2008; it was $9.60 an ounce. It's now $40 or so. Gold was $710; now it's way more than double - in less than thrree years.

Does that not spell 'mkt collapse' ?!?? Look at your buying power, which is inverse to inflation, ie. erosion of fiat power: When i was 8 years old (1963), there were five and dime stores. Heck, even dollar stores had ONLY dollar items. But, we used to get $.50 weekly allowance. My dad had six kids, made $150 per week as a type setter. My mom didn't have to work at all (No body's mom worked in that day!) So $150 a week, six kids, a nice brick home in silver Spring, Md, one car, mom didn't work. And our silver 50 cent piece could purchase 10 (count 'em) nice size, very tasty hershy bars; gasoline was $.29 a gallon.

Now adays, both parents can't make ends meet for two children, both working fulltime. So called increase in wages has kept up no where near of inflated prices.

Your collapse happened so long ago you've forgotten what is true economics. It's a total illusion that Americans have bought due to expert propaganda and slow depreciation of currency. It's classic frog in the water in the pot.

I agree the Standard of living has changed yes it take both parents to make a living now but you are missing the whole point. A major reset is due except for India and China Germany and a very few others ….. We have borrowed way more than can be paid back so this slow boil your talking about its about to be a roaring boil!

Read the article before mouthing off…..do you anything about statistics? Do you understand the debt to GDP ratio?
 Quoting: YaRight

OP you need to look closer at how inflation is calculated and the real inflation rate

also check out how they changed the way unemployment is calculated

we have nominal growth but solidly negative after adjusted for real inflation

never left the recession, welcome to depression #2

Clear and simple it’s going down

'Whence do you come, slayer of men, or where are you going, conqueror of space?' The soul answered and said, 'What binds me has been slain, and what surrounds me has been overcome, and my desire has been ended, and ignorance has died. In a [world] I was released from a world, [and] in a type from a heavenly type, and (from) the fetter of oblivion which is transient. From this time on will I attain to the rest of the time, of the season, of the aeon, in silence.'

PREDICTIONS SHOULD BE BANNED FROM LIFE, they arent useful

do not throw your prediction crap around just so you can project your feelings of need

show me some science
show me some factspeople have been yelling collapse since money was first contemplated.....yet we have always survived and evolved
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1390188

There were a hell of a lot more facts in the list that the O/P linked to than you dared to contemplate, more's the pity.

Re: Getting close to hitting the panic button?
Obviously none of the problems leading into '08 were fixed, they were just swept under the carpet with a ton of more debt, and monetization of future debt, that is monetizing the future value of the debt since it was apparent if left by itself it could never yield it's future value by production from the real economy.

Most debt now is of this type, nearly all of it will need to be monetized, that is the euphemism for liquidation so no one is allowed to fail.

lmao
