I live in an area with a pretty large population of travellers and former travellers, and public opinion is pretty split. Some support them, some don't, and as I said, a lot of the travellers are decent people, but there are a minority who cause a lot of shit.

Fucking dirty knackers destroy every piece of land they settle on, leaving councils huge bills for the cleanup. They can basically do what the fuck they want claiming ethnic minority status.

You should see the destruction they leave when they #travel' on dirty dirty bastards, Hate them.

oh, and all you bleedin heart do-gooders, you put them up on your land!!!

Oh and as for Amnesty and some Catholics priests, looking for justice for them, where are YOU when decent tax payers are getting evicted because they cant keep up with mortgage payments, WHERE are you???

I'm sure a lot of them are nice and I'd think they were even nicer if they paid their way like the rest of us. And I'm definitely not right wing, just believe that people should be treated the same, whoever they are.

The argument in this case seems to be that the travellers haven't been treated fairly by the planning process (which wouldn't surprise me, since it's one of the more corrupt parts of local government).

The ironical thing is, they still bleat on about the council etc ruining their culture by kicking them off the site and they still refer themselves as TRAVELLERS.

Tell you what Paddy and Mary, pack up your Caravan and fuck off and do some travelling.

Sorry for the re-post, thought it only fair to put my name to this as I am no doubt going to get some bad karma.

Crazy thing is, they say they cant get work, so where the fuck do they get the money for the 100,00 pounds big fat knacker weddings???

It upsets me they get away with building on the land.

My Father in law retired recently, my mother in law has a really bad back so they sold their house and bought a new build bungalow in a nice green area.

What the builder and solicitors failed to tell them was that the land could not have any more building done on it (in their garden). Not even a greenhouse.

Before he found out about this though, he went and bought a 7x5 meter shed, had to build it from scratch, for him to carry on tinkering away in his retirement and to store tools, lawnmowers etc in.

The council planning department turned up and said he had to rip it all down, about £7k worth of shed.

He has been fighting this and fighting this for 2 yrs now and the final appeal chance was dismissed, even though the locals, councilers, government officials and residents all wrote in support of my father in law saying the shed couldnt be seen and isnt having an effect on any green belt.

They have aged him badly with stress, he is out of pocket by about £25k with solicitors fees and what not yet these cheeky bastard pikey fuckers get away with murder.

I hate them.

I was in a Pizza place on Monday with the kids, there was about 6 women and about 8 kids who came in, sat near us and began swearing, being really abusive to the staff, they even let one of the kids put her music on through her phone and the girls, between about 5-10 yrs old all started dancing like grown up girls, they were all wearing revealing clothes too.

Just hate them, they are worse than chavs.

The corrupt leaders who tapped all of the people's money now invited foreigners into UK and are allowing them to start businesses without citizenship. Reason? So they can tap their wealth as well.

On of the best thing the people of UK could do is make it difficult for foreigners to come in. This was why they are rioting. 20yo can't even find a job.

Its wrong to let anyone settle somewhere for 10 years THEN deide they have to go.....whether they are scum or not , thats an individual opinion , the issue here is their home is being pulled from under their feet , cant tell me that every last person who resides there is a piece of shite...
So , when the council finally gets rid of them what do you all think is going to happen?.....mmmmm , a nice new estate with 3/4 bedroom properties for "nice" people !!!! Not everyone wants a mortgage and a good job , its a democracy we live in with a benefit system in place , I hate people crowing on and on about benefit wallers etc.....if the system wasnt fair it wouldnt be there , and while there is a benefit system people will take advantage.....why not????

I actually watched that show, very interesting to say the least. Thank goodness I was not born in their lifestyle. Being a women in their society would not mesh well with me.

They didn't let them settle there for ten years and then suddenly decide they have to go. They have had a legal battle with them for the whole ten years and only just got the right to remove them (unless you are referring to the courts decision). They also built on the area knowing that was illegal.
