HOW ABOUT KARMA CHANGES TO IMPROVE THE CURRENT SYSTEM WHAT DO YOU THINK?

If the Karma comments were kept invisible, how would anyone know that according to some nameless expert, that I don't know enough ancient history?

But I get your point, I am a member of another site that uses (only positive) Karma, and only posters' reputations are visible, not the Karma messages themselves.

Yes I think that would be a better system..people seem to follow each other and look at others comments and "gang up" so to speak. Also if turning in bad posts gives you good Karma and too many can see that a poster does it..it kinds is like exposing an undercover mod?

No ACs can't give or receive karma which is why I have no problem reporting copyright violations by ACs. AC copyright violations got me this upgrade.

But do you think if your Karma messages where only visible to you .that it would be a benefit?

Probably because other members will assume I reported their posts and made them lose karma when that's not the truth.

Yes, that is what I was thinking too :) I have seen negative Karma given to posters who turn in bad posts..that makes no sense

Fishing for Karma in old posts is finite and will eventually run its course. As for current violations, we can always use the help and offer something in exchange. It seems OK to me so far.

Unregister and karma works fie.

That detracts from others being able to see if the charges are frivolous or not. I think most here are open minded enough to see whether someone is being targeted or not. Negative Karma for some is a positive.

It's okay and helps keep people accountable for posting inappropriately or rudely, and rewards for posting responsibly and kindly, and you can check people's karma to see if it came by organically or not, so the system works..."okay"...

I just thought my scoring system was a bit more logical given the "karma" label the program was given.

it's an accountability system. If it's secret, it doesn't work as well...

I see that..but I have also seen people get negative for no apparent reason or turning in copyright violations..it just seemed mean negative Karma..

Trinity seems pretty concerned about copyright violations which is why reporting them is worth more karma.

I suggest we should go to positive only karma also. I was given negative karma for posting about the majority of the American electorate choosing style over substance, and that being the reason Paul (although being a smart guy with great ideas) will not be nominated. The negative Karma comment was:
"You need to get your head on straight. Right now, you are a loser like the rest of your shill buddies."
Negative karma being given just because a reader disagrees with my opinion is not useful in control of the board nor is it a true representation of the value of a contributor's posts. Karma should also reference the post receiving good or bad karma. Other than the post mentioned, I have good/bad karma comments and have no idea which posts garnered the votes.
If you don't like a post which is NOT abusive in any manner nor a copyright violation, just move on to the next post. If you find the post a contribution to the board, then give positive karma.
(Now watch, I'll get negative karma for being a "whiner".)

probably i got negative and comment was KARMATARD FFS I have only 11 points hardly a Karmatard :)
