No. I was diagnosed HIV positive in 1994. My "business" is a personal matter of life and death.

I don't have statistics to hand but I can provide a personal case study that illustrates many of the points in my post.

At diagnosis in 1994 my CD4 count was 950-ish and viral load 85000-ish. Over the next nine years my viral load increased and CD4 count gradually and steadily declined.

When I was first diagnosed, there were few treatment options available but by the time I started treatment in 2004 with a CD4 count of 250 there were numerous options available that were literally bringing people back from death's door at the clinic I attend

After about 4 months my viral load became (and remains) undetectable. My CD4 count has risen slowly but steadily and is now back at around the 550 mark, well within the range of a "normal" immune system.
