I feel like I was created to notice her, odd as that seems. Very misunderstood, Eris, but that's understandable since even the ancients noted there were "two types of Eris" one that no one loves and one that's loveable once she's understood, not villainous at all, but the motive behind discovery and expansion. The strife that pushes us to move and learn and create. Another tidbit... the word Eris in Latin means "you will be", but she's translated as Discordia... I find that meaningful, but as in all things, your mileage may vary, lol :)

YES! I've always seen it as a two faced situation. Like in music, harmony relies on occasional discord. Now understand, I have an affinity with Eris, but it's not worship. In my heart, I feel there's but one creator who doesn't require worship or adulation, just acknowledgment for creating all this. So when I say Goddess, it doesn't mean I worship her... but I do understand her. It's all about order and disorder. There's creative order and disorder and destructive order and disorder, that's Chaos, the sum of all parts.

In order to come to concord, accord, one must first wade through the discord to find what's true, false and meaningless. Some things are all three at the same time, lol! If we all agreed all the time we'd never learn, we teach each other first through arguing about it, then finding common ground. That's what I feel Eris brings to the table... "you will be" in accord once you talk it out, find what's meaningful/meaningless in the true and the false.

Have you read the Principa Discordia? There's several updates, too. I'll dig up some links later... the Discordian philosophy is interesting in that it deals with negatives in order to dissolve them, just what you said, dealing with discord to come to an accord.

I feel, too, it's easy to empathize with the previous versions of humanity for several reasons... one being they weren't allowed to learn the way we (humanity 2.0, lol) do due to the limitations of religion and state. The information they were allowed limited them to specific paradigms otherwise they were taken out or elevated to "illuminated" positions colored with those same brushes. The great American experiment did more than free us from the tyranny of monarchy and nobility, it allowed us freedom in choosing what information we could gather and consume. The natural result of freedom of consumption is the freedom to evaluate said information and form our own suspicions and "belief". One of those things we've learned from this seems to be there are no absolutes, duality is an illusion, a pretty lie we tell ourselves to limit the natural expression of our inner selves. Take disorder... it seems a bad thing until you meet an absentminded professor type. And order seems good until you meet a facist dick, lol. It's not the expressions or range within duality that sucks, it's the belief that concepts are good/bad when they're merely tools we choose to use or not.
