In the Biblical allegory, original sin seems not the act of eating the apple, but not owning it. They chose shame instead of responsibility for the act. I don't see it as anything but a failed test, one the people of the book failed over and over. Now that's my opinion of the Biblical text, not my all encompassing belief. Wisdom comes from more than one place, more than one book. It's everywhere :)

You are admonished to read ERNEST BECKER "Escape from EVIL" start with chapter 8 (Fascism and Scapegoating)...then, understand EVIL from M.Scott Peck's " People of The Lie" page 66 about how "the evil ones are always hiding" and " destroy any witness against them" because they fear more than anything, the admission of their crimes, sin, and selfishness. This is the best summary of evil: se lfishness and the dynamics of scapegoating and the failure to admit "their sins" thus, nullifying redemtion, forgiveness with the ability to "redeem and forgive others".The EVIL ones judge, as they project their guilt onto someone else: SCAPEGOATING. They won't admit their crimes?...that they enjoy committing. If you talk to the self important, smug dorks pretending to be criminal profilers..........you'll find that they have been subtley brainwashed by their group, and end up protecting their group (law enforcement) from any analysis of their acts and misdeeds (OK CITY, 9/11, Waco, Ruby Ridge, drug distribution, zero tolerence, proactive policing). FBI PROFILERS DO NOT PROFILE THE FBI.
