If you had a time machine.
If you had a time machine and you could go back to any historical moment of the past -- which one would it be, and would you try to change the outcome or just witness it?

I think I would go back in time to the French Revolution. What I would do, I don't know. Maybe I would bang some French chick and fight like a savage.

I would go back to 1963 in Dallas during Kennedy's visit and drop a smoke bomb into the sewer opening where the snyper was hiding that blew his head off. You know, just for shits and giggles. Then I would go back to the 70's and find my Dad's former business partner and blow his fucking brains out. In fact, I might do that anyway. Who needs a fucking time machine for that.

I would go back to the Soviet Union during the Trotsky/Stalin power struggle and defeat Stalin. Then I would go back to Nazi Germany -- moon Hitler -- and throw a grenade at him.

Well if you alter the timeline the rest of us cease to exist, that's not very cool!

But I'd probably visit some ancient wise men and learn from them directly.

I'd travel back in time to when Columbus sailed and docked in Plymouth....I'd rally a massive show of tribes to discourage the eventual annihilation of a culture, sacred earth-loving people honoring sustainability, taking only what was needed. I would change the indignant rape of North America done by the arrogant and violent, systematic and wasteful "white man." I would somehow wish to "teach" the ways of the native american to the "white man" upon stepping on such proud and noble soil. I would wish to cultivate harmony in such senseless thinking males in silly uniforms, hats and wigs....wishful thinking, thanks for the opportunity OP.

I would def go back to the colonial days, and convince the people to fight against the tyrants in England. That would have been way before the 18th century.

Re: If you had a time machine.
Go back to september 11th 2001, then call the cops 5 minutes before the planes struck in the morning and tell them the whole story.

They will be so pissed they will come to my house and detain me for questioning.

With a quick blood test etc. etc. they will see that I am the 22 year old version of my (in the past) 12 year old self. They will take my word as complete evidence that the future has sent me to warn them and let me go.

What will I tell them you may be pondering?

That Amelia Earhart came out of the bermuda triangle in several different forms to hijack planes and attack America.

If I was not myself, I would change my sex. Go back in time as a woman -- meet myself as a man -- and then make love and have a child. I would then become my own son/daughter, grandfather/grandmother, father/mother, uncle/aunt, and ect. I would then have a family reunion {with myself} and have a food fight.

I like the sentiment but Columbus never landed on Plymouth. You're probably thinking about the story of the Pilgrams. Sorry to be a history snob but, ya know...

Since we're going way back in time, I would go back to Scotland when William Wallace was fighting the English. I would tell him to stop wearing a skirt. He would understand then how silly he looks.

Sorrrry. haha!

I would head to the late 1990's and correct some of my wild teenage behavior...probably enjoy reliving some of it too.

Then I would take a trip to 1970 in the USA and warn all the radicals about COINTELPRO.

Well if i could take an aircraft carrier with me, I'd clean the clocks of the spanish navy, destroy the jesuit stronghold ports in spain and then sail on to rome and level the vatican to smithereens in 1542. But this is just a fantasy anyways.
