I watched a show yesterday where the speaker mentioned the number of earthquakes of 6.0 magnitude or greater by decade since 1900. It seems that the numbers went up and down a little over the decades, but not by leaps and bounds. I think the average per decade was 50 or 60.

But then, it jumps way up in the decade 2001 to 2010 to over 400. I did not verify these figures, but if they are correct, then wow!
