ATTENTION MODS........Should there be a "report abusive KARMA" button?

Yeah I agree, some of the negative Karma votes I have seen are harsh.

Yes I mean that karma log doesn't mean you can say whatever you want..

There needs to be something. One poster last week was threatening people with getting them with bad karma votes.
Despicable.

I got a really bad comment last week after someone attached my handle to a really awful insulting quote, that I would never have written. I had to run around doing clean up after the poster that did it. In the meantime, someone who was rightly insulted as I was, gave me a a bad karma vote. I bought it and cleaned it off, but yeh, there should be a system. Probably isn't a way to do that though.

You REALLY need to stop worrying about "Karma" on a website...It's taking WAY TOO MUCH of your valuable time.

I agree. I think if they keep it, it should be good karma or nothing.

im talking about threatening and harsh posts in the karma.. not the system itself.. learn to read wiseguy. How would you like it if someone threatens you?

Doesn't bother me personally but I know a fair few people that come here are in quite fragile states of mind, karma votes wouldn't bother most but sometimes they are a little harsh and over the top for simply expressing an opinion. I think the negative Karma option is unessasary really. Gives trolls and the like an option to spread annonymous hate.

If it's harsh..delete it. If you give people a way to complain about it, people are going to complain every time they get neg votes, claiming it's 'unjustified' or 'abusive'

you can't delete without 10karma votes PER deletion.. but im just saying sometimes the negative comments are untrue and really abusive

getting 10 points isn't a difficult thing to do. If you can't do it by posting quality, you can at least get it by combing the archives. I agree there is no need to be overly abusive, but it's the internet..and GLP for that matter. Can't really expect anything different.

I really don't see much of a difference between mean name calling comments on a thread and mean name calling comments attached to a negative karma vote.

Be kind when you are expressing an opinion that differs. Then if the other person continues to be mean, well they will stand out as a bully, and we will all see that for what it is. I see no reason to give a bully even more attention by getting all upset over what they say.

and I want the karma system, since it is based on member accounts to show who gave it, good or bad. I reserve the right to confront those that are annoying or posting LIES about me, and also the right to thank those who given lovely green thumbs.

I have been signing mine with NIP when I give karma and somebody recently gave karma to a certain person in attempt to drive a wedge and signed it NIP. This is about as low as you can get. We are pretty sure who it was from the chosen words, but cannot be positive.
