Op there are some days, especially when I see stories like these abuses of children, that I wish for the complete destruction of humanity. Let the animals have the earth. There seems to be no sign of mankind evolving upward in the spiral of evolution. In fact from what I am seeing, we seem to be devolving. Tragic.

That girl was probably Coptic - the Church of Alexandria started by my good friend John Mark (second Gospel).

His Icon is always pictured with the Lion which is kinda his mascott to the Coptics.

Tradition states that John Mark's Old Man got saved when John Mark prayed and kept a Lion from attacking the two.

No, you see whether it was god, animal instinct, or just luck, wicked people were defeated and a innocent life was spared. I am not all religious but I remember a passage in the bible where God said, “if there is one righteous man in the city, I will spare the city.”

You see, we all do things that are not right from time to time, that just being human. However, a small portion of the population (maybe 5%) is different, they are truly dark souls. That is not altogether true.

Few predatory species will engage humans without provocation. Most predators will ignore or even fear a new species in its environment, all but shunning the creature.

It is us humans that have engaged other species before, hunting them down or provoking them thus causing the angst.

A lion, or a bear, or another other predator that has never meet a human before will avoid a human, unless that human does something to upset the beast like go after the children, come too close to the nest/den.

Bears, lions, etc that do attack on sight have had run ins with humans before and knows that humans poise a threat.

Animals will warn you off, if you ignore the warning then they attack, usually the warning is a display that should scare a normal human being into backing off. Usually, but there are people who thinks its real fun to poke a bear (or a lion or whatever).

There's always a logical explanation. Nothing miraculous or special here.

I don't really believe that whole "oh the whimpering of the girl sounded like their cubs" BS. Animals don't get near enough credit they know right from wrong and understand what is happening. Much more than just a case of "mistaken identity" god I hate when that type of spin is put on a story. Also "why the lions did not eat a girl"...wtf? there's only been one case of man eating lions seeking to kill humans for more than just self defense. Those were the Tsavo lions if anyone is interested.

Almost all cases of predatory cats eating humans has been because they had disabilities that made it impossible for them to catch their normal prey. One tigress had a bullet in her shoulder that had gone septic as well as some other man made injuries. One tiger had teeth blown off from a gun. If they are attacking us it is likely because WE have done something to THEM.

You better do a bit more reading my friend. Lions kill and eat people every year in a number of African countries and there have been many many eating lions since such things were kept track of. The Tsavo lions are of note because of the number of people they killed and they worked as a team, but they are far from being unique as far as big cats eating humans.

There have also been regular man eating leopards and of course tigers.......... read Jim Corbett's books.

You do not hear a lot about it these days as it is bad for tourism. As are polar bear attacks and sharks nabbing the odd swimmer.
