I'm afraid I'll have to raise the B.S. flag on this. According to the original John Titor, going back to a timeline you created, from your timeline in the future was impossible. Any change caused by tampering in the past did not change your original timeline. It did, however, create a new timeline - your old one continued on as before.

Like going back to plug Hitler as a youth. That timeline might not have a third reich, or even the state of Israel. Your original timeline would still have him in the history books.

So... going back in time to drop off an IBM 5100. Sounds like temporal charity to me, and can't affect your original timeline.
