It is really strange if this is totally out of the ordinary.
WOuld love to hear astromuts opinion.
Is it completely unheard of? The slowing down etc for a comet....
Quoting: Erra From what I understand, it's sort of like a slingshot effect. As the comet approaches the sun, its speed increases so that when it circles around it has enough breakaway speed so it doesn't get pulled into the sun itself...slowing down doesn't make much sense.
