The Bible Says... and It Is So.

Bible says ...
God created man, the Earth and universe. And this is what is found. Man has always been man. There is no proof of the subhuman cavemen claimed by many who reject God.

Bible says ...
God caused a great global flood to come upon the Earth killing everything on land except eight people including Noah and many animals who survived aboard a ship designed by God called the Ark. And this is what is found. Sedimentary layers cover the Earth containing the fossils of all that were killed in the global flood about 4350 years ago. Textbooks and all of science admit these sediment layers theorizing a meteor struck the Earth, and it may have. Noah's Ark has been found by amature biblical archaeologist Ron Wyatt.

Bible says ...
After the flood Noah's great-grandson Nimrod founded Babylon a kingdom that included Sumeria. And this is what is found. Archaeologists have found his name on many inscriptions and tablets in the excavated city of Babylon.

Bible says ...
The tribes of Israel came out of Egyptian slavery and settled Palestine and Judea. And this is what is found. The exodus route, Red Sea crossing location, the real Mount Sinai and surrounding artifacts have all been found by Ron Wyatt. Many cities built by the Jewish people remain today, including Jerusalem.

Bible says ...
God came to Earth as a man, Jesus. And this is what is found. First and second century historians and witnesses record the life and times of Jesus and Christian converts.

Bible says ...
There will be four kingdoms on Earth from the time of Daniel in Babylon until the end when Jesus returns, written by Daniel at that time. As yet this is what has been. These kingdoms have been: Babylon, Persia, Greek and the Roman Empire which still rules today.

The bible also said GOD created the earth and universe 6,000/10,000 years ago...according to dinosaur bones that are 4 million+ years old, GOD is a liar. Unless of coarse its the people who wrote the bible whom were WRONG..they were wrong about one thing they whole heartly believed..the earth is NOT flat.
 Quoting: Aiyanna

Where in the Bible does it say how old the earth is? That is a very human interpretation of the text.

Also, the earth is not listed as flat in the Bible. There is evidence in the gospels that the earth was considered a sphere revolving around the sun. Upon the second coming of Christ, two people are found working in the field. At the exact same moment two people are found sleeping in bed. The Bible is telling us that it will occur during the day in some parts of the world and at night in others.

A flat earth would mean the whole earth would be night at the same time or day at the same time.

lol, i OBVIOUSLY know the earth is not flat, you don't have to convince me of this.. lol

but the bible does claim that Earth has four ends and four corners. Nothing round has corners or ends.
"that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it? (From the NIV Bible, Job 38:13)"
"He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. (From the NIV Bible, Job 37:3)"
"for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. (From the NIV Bible, Job 28:24)"
"Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea. (From the NIV Bible, Job 11:9)"
Job 38:44 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? "
If the author of the bible thought of a globe earth then the last question in job 38: 44 should of read "Who stretched a measuring line around it?"

It also claims its on a foundation and can never be moved..
"He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. (From the NIV Bible, Psalm 104:5)"
the sun hurries back to where it arises?
"The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. (From the NIV Bible, Ecclesiastes 1:5)"
(come on- these are silly thing's to be said)

And we can't forget the earths "pillars"
He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble. (From the NIV Bible, Job 9:6)"

1. Job 37:33 He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth.
Lighting doesn't travel around the earth the biblical god thought his earth was a small, flat one?

The sumarian tablets on the other hand, Had detailed discriptions of the solar system.....................Detailed. solar. system. Meanwhile, 3,000 years later, "God almighty" was asking who stretched a measuring line around it?

Sweetie, I didn't say you thought the earth was flat. That's ridiculous. And I wasn't trying to start an argument. I was just pointing out how odd Jesus Christ's word were. He said that He would return when it was night in some areas of earth and day in other areas. To a society that pretty much thought the earth was flat. That would have presented some confusion. As you just pointed out in Job the person who wrote that section either thought of the earth as flat or God Himself was speaking to Job in a way that Job could understand.

Ecclesiates was written by King Solomon who turned out to be wise in his own eyes. Psalms likely was authored by Solomon's Dad. King David was into music. Psalms and Ecclesiates may have been musical lyrics or maybe poetry. A lot of truth can exist within the lines of non factual poetry.

There are a lot of different ways to look at things. Still I appreciate you bringing up a discussion of the Sumarian tablets in this thread. It's important to not turn a blind eye to other viewpoints. That goes for religious folks, but also anti religious folks.

For fellow Believers:
Christians need not fear historical information. In fact, it shows a supreme lack of faith to try to force things to fit our understanding of the Bible. It's a good idea to always pray before we read anything for His understanding. I truly believe He guides us to what we need to know when we need to know it.
