No. It is like trying to force two opposing magnets together.

Yes. I see what you mean. That is called a Walk-In. My understanding though is that it is not 'expelling a soul', for the soul has many, many levels and consciousnesses. We are multidimensional, so the original soul, would just have a back-seat and let the other in. Kind of hard to explain because it is multiple layers of the souls working in tandem.
