hello glp! I've recently started hording 95% copper pennies.I order them and other coin from different banks and turn them into a bank that lets me return their fiat money in a change counter for nothing.i guess i returned too much to soon because the president on the bank told me i'm not allowed to exchange the change more than once a week and not more then $250 dollars worth.i really want to let everyone know that a copper penny is worth about .03 cents in copper and zinc and tin.i know it's illegal to melt pennies down currently but who knows when it will will be lifted and when it does i hope you remember someone told ya!Any ideas on if they are doing me wrong and have to take it or should i bite the bullet and roll it ?

Real copper pennies (about99%) ended in 84 or 85ish. Yes it is illegal to melt USA, as well as Canadian pennies. However.....you can sift thru them, and see if you can find some older ones, as they're selling on eBay. It DOES cost more to make them than they're worth, as most currency is. However.....save your pennies, turn it into paper money and start buying used gold. Way better investment than copper.....you can get copper anywhere after TSHTF.

Hate to rain on your parade....but it was 1981, they started to convert in 1982....1982's are "hit & miss" on copper content.

Wasn't having a parade. I do have some copper 1984 pennies, however....It is raining in lower Michigan....so you're correct about that.
