Anonymous Coward User ID: 1550482 United States 09/17/2011 01:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It won't burn up before impact, if it impacts. We have rinky-dink 7-ton satellites that crash all the way to the ground. This thing masses probably millions of those. It is substantial and would do regional damage if it hit land and catastrophic widespread damage if it hit ocean (which is likelier than land due to the fact that the Earth is mostly covered by ocean). You cannot trust their calculations at this point in time. There is a crude sort of 'instrument' that is showing that a powerful gravitational force is approaching us. This 'instrument' is one TPTB didn't think of and so did not suppress in time to hide it from the masses: this 'instrument' is the scientists who measure the mass of the reference kilogram. They measure that mass by taking into account in real-time ALL possible tidal forces that could affect the local gravity field. They cannot get a reliable measurement now, because someone neglected to mention this approaching object or objects. What else other than a gravitational force could perturb the local gravity field and distort the mass of the reference kilogram? Obviously, nothing. So something IS coming. This 'instrument' is non-directional and does not say how LARGE the approaching mass is, just that something is coming. So, we have a massive object approaching, and the scientists who measure the mass of the reference kilogram have not been told about it. Well, that most likely means that the scientists who calculate these asteroid and comet trajectories have not been told about it either. (Or they have been told not to factor in the effects anyway, when calculating orbits.) So, garbage in, garbage out. Those trajectories and calculations cannot be trusted. Any 'close miss' could actually be an impact, because the same gravitational force perturbing the local gravity field on Earth (and thus distorting the measured mass of the reference kilogram) will ALSO be affecting these incoming objects. Consider yourself warned. |

psyoptics User ID: 1515826 United States 09/17/2011 01:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it is .8 LD away, not a full imact. If you use this viewer, it will not let you zoom in close enough to see ths orbit of the moon. but we know the moon is there. Not saying it is the size of a football stadium and very close to earht, it will be closer to the moon's orbit .02 LD. but i have can not find the app to see that. i have only seen videos and it looks to be the moon is on the other side of earth when it passes i can not check this fact only see video. Consider yourself warned. This. I am trying to think of the explosion that happened in the early 1900's that flattened a forest in Siberia. It was believed to be a 100 meter asteroid. It took out 100's of square miles of forest. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1160603 [link to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov] This is crazy! Why is nobody talking about this in the news to warm us. Pin this! This animation from jpl says it all. Look at the fluctuation to the orbit of earth caused by the gravitational wake of the comet. A large body like this flying so close could cause a large gravitational tide, like a speedboat overtaking you. [link to neo.jpl.nasa.gov] Stock up on the beans. This could be a rough ride. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1160603 Netherlands 09/17/2011 01:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This as something to do with the NASA mission GRAIL. Bullshit about investigating the moon surface. They want to track 2005 YU55 and alter the course of impact, with the 2 satellites. (remember NASA said it was a military mission) The pieces are coming together now. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1160603 PIN this! Where did you read that NASA said GRAIL was military? BTW, I spoke with a coworker who is recently ex-NASA (yeah, and I don't care what you think, so save your whining about your uncle, etc...) and I flat out asked why GRAIL would leave a few days ago on that Delta II, then arrive on New Year's, when we got Apollo 13 to the moon in a few days. He said that with Apollo, they were constrained by keeping the astronauts alive. He also said that in this case they may be trading speed for energy usage. I asked what NASA needed to save on energy for, I mean, we're talking about a one-time acceleration. Why do you need to smell the daisies on the way to the Moon? Why not just get GRAIL there and park 'em or orbit 'em?? I asked if he thought that GRAIL was going to look at something else... that was a wasted question. OK, tear into me. Whatever. Do what GLP does best. Vomit all over people. N.A.S.A.= New Age Satanic Agenda |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1468554 The government has told us there is NO oxygen in space or on the moon but my question is: HOW IS THERE WATER?? Water is 1 part Hydrogen and 2 parts OXYGEN, without OXYGEN present the hydrogen molecules would disappear into the atmosphere of the moon and there would be NO WATER!!! Who knows the truth anymore. |
