Oh and all their pink flamingos are stolen from nearby establishments...all provided by the cuban immigrants lol. Last Edited by Dresden13 on 08/15/2014 07:54 PM |

My whole family would sit out there late at night and listen and just laugh and laugh. Our condo was at holiday towers across from there. We went every summer and would look forward to the late night comedy from the dunk tank. I can't wait to tell my dad I just took a trip down memory lane. I have tears in my eyes. Myrtle Beach has went downhill a good bit. We now stay at a place called maison sur mer up toward the north end on ocean drive. It's really nice, but nothing can ever replace what myrtle beach once was. 2 of my kids have a hazy memory of the "last ride" at the pavilion. We went for the final weekend. So for that I'm thankful... |

We still don't like you fucking Yankees! |

I was quite young, but I remember not understanding what he was doing, and my old man had to explain it to me. We went once or twice a year from the early to late 1980's. Always stayed at the KOA campground. Back then, the KOA was still way out in the sticks, but there was so little traffic that you could walk to the beach. The campground had a nice concrete pad going out over some brackish water, where I'd spend most of the day crabbing with a net, some string, and a chicken bone or two. Went back around 2003 or so, and never been back since. Was sorry to see that it had become an overcrowded, rowdy place full of trashy drunk people and various other degenerates. |

" Your eyes are like pools, cesspools" "Your nose is like a river, .. it flows" OP, please contact me if you can, I was one of the ones who could watch him for hours. Fun to watch the crowd react. My friends and I still talk about it occasionally and now I tell my son and niece. I wish I could remember more of them. What was the noise he made, I remember him doing something but forget what it was like. Polo polocash |

I remember going to see him every year. He would make my dad so mad. I’d love to hear more about him and how long he did the dunk tank. We lived there "seasonal" late March to after Labor Day... Dad was a Hell of a Man....He could draw a 1000+ person crowd and hold them there all night....On top weeks like the 4th of July, the police would have to provide security for him to come and go to work....he wore a mask and everyone wanted to know who he was. we had people who would come back year after year just to see him....some regulars would drop $200 a night at 10 balls for a dollar and just keep putting his ass in the water. Met alot of famous people like Chubby Checker, the wrestler Rick Flair & many of his friends(fellow wrestlers), the beach music groups "The Tams", "The Fabulous Shakers" and a State Senator or two.... We had folks who kept in touch on the off season thru Post Cards & letters Like I said before, Pops passed away in 1994 The name of the booth was "The Monster Tank"...all of the mask were of famous monsters, Dracula, Frankenstein etc. Here"s too ya "Monster Man"....I Miss Ya |
