This kind of thinking is what is turning American males into limp wristed metrosexuals. They need balance. Love AND discipline which comes from a strong male role model. They need to be allowed to fail and pick themselves up. To get bumps and bruises. To be shown that hard work is good and rewarding. And to have a spine and be self sufficient.

Realizing this is a "gay marriage" thread, it has been brought out elsewhere here that a male role model is imperative for a child’s success and development. Society has made it too easy and convenient for the fathers to bail or mother to walk away because of whatever selfish reason. And it has made it practically criminal for a child to experience any ills in this world.
