I always thought they were closed for accidents or road work but never heard about them on the radio. I just read a time magazine article about how the goverment is always planning for the next big diaster and most likely this is indeed what they are doing. |

The DHS has been funding some research into controlling and planning mass evacuations, specifically from metropolitan Chicago. This isn't necessarily out of the ordinary, but I've witnessed a couple other things that make this too interesting to ignore. Twice I've seen them position one cruiser at every on-ramp for several miles. They weren't blocking anything, just sitting there. Are they practicing for a mass evacuation? -The public alert system is being tested constantly. Just about every other night it happens during prime time TV. Anyone else have some other observations or confirmation of these things, or am I just spending too much time on GLP? ^^^ This usually indicates some big shot visiting the area like obummer, or his family. They do have to travel the roads. I used to live in the burbs, and remember when Bush would travel to Chicago sometimes. It really screwed up traffic. They basically isolate them as they travel down the road. The public alert system was constantly going off in Chicago, every time you turned around, it seemed. I live in Missouri now, and can honestly say I haven't noticed one of these. |
