I and other have researched on the word gospel used in the new testament and the outcome is phenomenally different than expected.

actual Greek characters will not display properly(sorry not my fault)
euaggelion
a good message, that is, the gospel: - gospel.

That is the Strong's definition. But as is usually the case with Strong's definitions they seem more like they are provided to support a belief than the actual meaning.

What one finds out when comparing it to other Greek text is that that word is not used widely. Very few other texts contain that word. By very few it could be said no other but two or three have been found. I will not provide references as that is not my intention here; you research it if you wish to verify.

Further study shows that the closer definition would be
Message too good to be true.

So the church teaches that the Gospel is salvation but how does that result in news too good to be true? It doesn't and I think we can all agree with that much.

So then if salvation is not the Gospel what is it?

If one really wanted to know for sure what the gospel is then reading the bible would be a requirement. But if one reads it with the meaning already provided by someone else, the church for example, then one would probably and usually not obtain the truth due to the doctrine of man standing in the way. Pitiful state to be sure but it is what it is.

Due to the great number of scoffers on this site I have no intention of revealing here what I have found in relation to the gospel, but I will say that the true gospel truly is too good to be true and you won't hear it from many churches - if any at all.

Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:19
