My son and I saw the san diego one as we were getting off the trolley in El Cajon. Call the tv station they will tell u how many cities saw it. They sure are spetaculer.

I think its happening alot but places with Shitty Ozone have more breakthrough meteors, and are seeing more come down.

I also think the loud noises in the sky are also meteors that arent breaking through, and exploding overhead.

Their have been fireballs shooting across the skies for eons. Most of us are not lucky enough to see them, never mind video tape one.
I would be on here telling everyone to. I would be very excited. Sigh.

Last days/weeks I've been watching at least one per night over Portugal. Started with a green one probably 2 weeks ago, then all the others are white/orange.

This is serious. I was amazed with the crashes in Argentina and Texas...

Good to see a tanlet at work. I can't match that.

I saw a show of my life last Tues night. We had that front coming in with winds and I went to put the garbage out. Little did I know at that exact time we had sustained winds of 60 mph and clocked 105 at a high point a few miles away! Anyway, I started seeing white flashes in the sky. Never seen anything like it. It occurred to me it might be tranformers blowing, but the light went so high in the sky! I kept seeing flashes, then I watched the fast moving clouds going directly over my head start flashing orange! I ended up seeing flashes to the North, South and West. Turns out it was a mix of transformers blowing and extremely rare winter lightening that was similar to heat lightening in that it was silent. There were virtually no reports of it from my area because no one looks up here or notices or reports anything. The TV weather guy told me Western NY reported the lightening however. Anyway, kinda off topic but I'm in Upstate NY and it was a damned scary thing to watch and hopefully a once in a lifetime experience.

We lost a huuuuge old tree at the end of the street at that moment, but I didn't know until the next morning though our lights had flickered a lot. It was very close to houses and street and a miracle no one was killed!

Sorry I missed that fireball though!!! You must have a lot of chutzpah to be out at a campfire in Upstate New York in January!

Ozone and "breakthrough" meteors is a bit of an implausible theory scientifically.

Sorry to be out of touch, my internet cintecnoon has been terrible this week.I'm always taking reference photos. I have many thousands and never use 99 out of 100. Those snapped more than a couple of years ago are in disordered piles, or stuffed in old fashioned card files bought at an antique shop. Now I load snaps off my digital camera directly into a reference file on my computer. I used to spend a fortune on photo processing, but I rarely print out my snaps now. Since most are for reference, there's no need to.
