That's right, and we are to let our light shine for the world to see. That light is our love.

maybe its easy to be nice to someone whois nice tous..or in this materialworld..to be nice tosomeone who can helpus in any way

but what we do to the "lowest" ..we do to Him

those that are rejected..those that dont matter..those that dont count..those that in the eyes of this world dont exist

Because they had developed, over time, an ideology, built on the precepts of men mixed with truth and scripture, of who Christ was and how he would come, or present himself.

They expected a mighty and strong enity, that would set all right with the sound of His voice, glorious and grand, a King in all His glory.

Christ came to the earth as a son of lowly/average parent and grew into His foreordination.

He was meek but His words were powerful and true.

They saw Him at best as a prophet and at worst, a blasphemer.

Simply because He was not what they had imagined.

This is where we can see the damage of false ideas based on a mixture of truth and precepts of men.

That's right sister. And they loved their position of importance. Jesus threatened that in their eyes because He exposed them for what they were, whitewashed graves.

Matthew 19:16-19 “ And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.




Is this verse an example of Jesus saying he is not God?, he seems to be humbly rejecting the statement he is good/God.

Jesus is the son, not the Father. He always directed people to the Father in heaven.

If Jesus were walking among us today, who would He befriend?

Sinners...

And one of Jesus' best statements:

"I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Luke 5:32

The rich young ruler's question is a loaded question: "Good Master, what good thing shall I do..."

The first sentence of Jesus' reply addressed the first underlined word, basically saying, "Don't butter me up!" The remainder of the full passage addresses the others.

Mark 2:13-17

13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. 14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

One of the charges frequently made against Jesus was that he received and ate with sinners. The charge was made when he attended a feast at the house of the publican Matthew (Matt. 9:9-12; Mark 2:16-17). Some charged that he was a "friend of publicans and sinners" at the same time they said he was a winebibber and glutton (Matt. 11:19). When he went into the home of Zacchaeus, his enemies charged, "That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner" (Luke 19:7).

The occasion for the three parables in Luke 15 was this: "Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them" (Luke 15:1-2). In response to this charge, Jesus gave the three parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son (the prodigal son) to show how the loving God searches for and seeks the ones who are lost.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what does the sentence "Baruch HaShem Adonai" mean?

(It's Hebrew)

Baruch = Bless

Ha Shem = The Name

Adonai = Lord

So, "Bless the Name of the Lord"

LOL - I was showing off! (There's a Messianic congregation in Dallas called "Baruch HaShem" - which is how I knew.)

I just googled it.........LOL!
