Not true the capabilities are not there yet
Quoting: Deanster They are there and well past. The only thing holding it back is that painful juncture. Employment, GDP, yada yada yada. The old paradigm is... ya... That´s why TPTB blew up the "service industry" bubbly .. the loudest to pop just right after peak oil. We have seen nothing yet, in 5 years a pc will have the intelligence of a good dog and interact with you, in 10 years your desktop will outsmart you and me. But i doubt that our "society" will last that long. No, you are right. Our society will not last. The only choice is to join. Alas we are already joining it. Right now even allowing machines to do work like translation, earbuds,building cars and whatnot are just fine. It is a painful juncture, this joining. It will happen. Shit it has happened, we just havent come to grips with it yet.
