Calling on all people and researchers interested in Solar anomalies and related subject areas
I have mentioned this idea on here before on a number of threads - and since I now have received a few positive responses, I am calling on any person/s who has a real interest in and has the ability or time to follow the solar events and related earth-effected events in order to keep and collate a data of these events 24/7

That is - to form a research group of as many people as possible to collate and record daily Solar and earthquake/volcanic events and to share their thoughts and information here and link to other sites.

I used to be part of a 12 person Solar anomaly team back in 1999, many of you here may recognise the team members - I wrote an article dedicated to these people here;l

[link to ambilacuk.com]

Unfortunately, there is now only myself and Gary Goodwin remaining - Gary runs the tmgnow website (the old Millennium group)

After Kent Steadman passed away some years ago - Kent ran the well-known www.cyberspaceorbit.com website, which is still there in memory to him - I set up a much smaller site, which now I hope people will use as a portal to share their info etc
See here;
[link to ambilacuk.com]

I have not had much time to develop this site, but the basics are there to add in links and your info should you so wish

With all the recent increase in activity and events this may be a good idea to 'resurrect' a team to harness the info and to share as to what is occurring..

You can contact me on those Ambilac sites above, the main Ambilac site has been running for over 13 years now..the issue I have is time...so I think it is time for 'fresh blood' to start to impart their time, enthusiasm and knowledge to others
Many thanks for YOUR time

PS - there are many posters here with like-minded interests and run permanent threads, this is just an idea to collate such threads so viewers may access all related data and info in an easier and more direct way and still maintaining your individual threads, but 'pooled' for easier access etc

I'll be watching this thread too...

As we approach the solar max I can envisage a surge in interest.

I visit a fair number of sites and threads to keep tabs on activity, so the idea of having relevant information together in one place does appeal.

[link to solarimg.org] is an excellent site however I must admit the meaning of some of the links remain a mystery to me.

Perhaps if articles could be included on your website to cater for those at entry level as well as the more informed it may have greater appeal.

Has your site got any limitations on bandwidth/traffic?

peace out

For starters, I can animate otherwise static data.

For example; Ionospheric Maps

If a few individuals are prepared to offer some input on a regular/daily basis your site could turn into a valuable resource.

Cool, good idea.

Very interesting.

I received a SuperSID monitor a while back and I haven't fooled around with it once. I guess now is a great time to get some PVC pipe and make the antenna. Now that I've talked about it, I'll have to do it. lol

Thank you.

Does the SID use your pc sound card?

When sites go down (as they generally do when something noteworthy kicks off) I guess you've got your own source of data.

Re: Calling on all people and researchers interested in Solar anomalies and related subject areas
OK people - many thanks for the input - bear in mind I am across the 'great pond' so at least 5 or 6 hours delay in replying etc to any direct comment etc

In answer to a few queries:
Bandwith- I have about 800 gigs available - OK for the normal blast of visitors and may be a few surges etc - but the site in the main would be offered as a portal with main links to whoever wishes to offer info/data on their sites etc

The SID look of great interest - especially when things go 'awry' (shut downs/outages etc) which is always a possibility.
We were actually shut down from all ac.uk sites in UK many years ago for 3 weeks via a NASA site operating from an outlet in a New York Public library..always wondered what they found of interest? Did you find anything NASA? (Never A Straight Answer --anyway)

In the first stage I can upload the links already suggested and offered - I also have somewhere stashed on the site a prima for people who want to know the basics of all this - will upload as soon as I can.

I contacted Gary Gooodwin of [link to tmgnow.com]
who is also still interested, Gary was one of our original team members so has many years of experience in this field and will be a great help.

May be also we can make this a permanent thread etc until we develop other sites, or keep this going whatever..
I know from many years experience, especially with so much new satellite technology and so many data charts, that is often difficult to look for what you want - like looking for a needle in the proverbial haystack - so the idea was to make it as simple as possible and easier for contributions to be shared.
This way - may be we can make some 'sense' out of it all and receive some early 'heads up' info
Thanks

Reminder - this is the initial platform - Sol-orbit

You're right. There are too many links to work through these days. (you should see my Bookmarks folder, reads like a telephone directory lol) If your page contained links to the cream of what is available and it could be seen at a glance it would save me time and effort.

Regarding material contributed by users, if I was for example producing animations/graphics, I'd don't currently have a website so I guess I'd just have to link to youtube. Concern would be if the data was still relevant by the time it was linked from your site. Just thinking out loud about the periods of high activity when developments are happening all the time.

You are correct of course - in this case it may be better to post somewhere where the 'live action' is occurring such as here...
My website would be for a pooled set of links or information really, but also to link to on-going research, commentary or videos etc

Later I will start to upload a few relative and important links

Re: Calling on all people and researchers interested in Solar anomalies and related subject areas
While I think of it.

There was a thread on here yesterday titled:

HUGE CME EARTHBOUND FROM SUNSPOT 1305! M CLASS FLARE!

It was an M1.2, hardly noteworthy yet it was pinned most of the day.

Sometimes I see threads predicting earthquakes 2/3 days after a major solar event but nothing materialises because there are other factors at play which don't get taken into account for example proton density or magnetic field alignment.

IMO making predictions comes with a huge responsibility.

Could your site be what is needed to fill a niche, bringing together various factors into a coherent picture, at least while mainstream science refuses to acknowledge any connection between solar activity and geophysical events/weather.

Exactly! this could be one method, there are many others - and with the help of a coordinated group, and with many 'watchers' keeping an eye on these events 24/7 we can follow the links between each event to see the effects...

I think we are living in vibrant and changing times, some call it 'The Quickening' - we need to understand in order to prepare..
I am only one humble person, there are many out there who can help and assist and have the time and ability to record and collate such events - this way we can see what transpires and 'no trick missed' LOL

Ok then. I've made a start.

Reformatted spare laptop and now collecting data from:

[link to www.spacew.com]
[link to www.gdgps.net]
[link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

I'll add a few more feeds later. If there's any useful static images/satellite/feeds etc you'd like animated just let me know.

I'll put the youtube links up daily on this thread for now. Most reliable time for me to update is 9pm-midnight GMT, though I'm usually up later. At least it would be there for you to link to the following morning.

Feel free to embed on your site if you wish, failing that at least a linked image may give visitors an idea what they're going to see.

I will have a little more time today so will start to collate some useful links to place on the 'platform site' at
[link to ambilacuk.com]

One other point; apart from GLP, which is as about as useful as any other forum, especially as it attracts so many viewers,(and many other trolls of course, but we can ignore those, as we are seeking the same thing) if anyone has any further suggestions, such as a dedicated forum or a website which has limitless bandwith (I can extend mine if necessary, but am limited in scope) please by all means input here -

In the 'old days' many people used Kent Steadman's www.cyberspaceorbit.com site as a portal, and that is still running as an archive if anyone wishes to skim through for background reading - caveat..it has thousands of pages! but damn useful stuff.

Updated links

While most of you folk are in the land of zzzzz across the great pond, I have been updating and sorting new related Solar and earth related events links
Check them out here
[link to www.ambilacuk.com]

I will continually check and add further links, there are quite a few useful ones and some in the past I have used have changed URL's - so will trawl through

Re - Animations ad videos - I will also be uploading a separate page with embedded and links to videos such as u-tube which contain solid info

Please let me know of any site-link that you may find of interest or you use I can load up at that link
Cheers

Some useful links here

Thread: Real-Time Monitoring Links for Solar, Earthquake, Atmosphere, Live Webcams and more. (The More Eyes The Better)

Credit to 2cents

(This page still being updated)

I would like to share several Real-Time sites that I monitor so that we can all keep each other updated on current events happening on and around the Earth.

Please post any Real-Time links that you have and I will add them to this main page to make them available to all.

I will try to keep the links categorized for easy access. Let me start this with an incredible solar site which you can customize as you like...this site includes early warning of incoming solar events. Here is an example of my customized solar monitoring site (May need Firefox)
