Netherlands 10/02/2011 04:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Booming noises in Tennessee! The Lashbrooke subdivision in Louisville enjoyed a quiet and sun-bathed afternoon on Thursday. The peaceful surroundings of the affluent neighborhood along the Tennessee River lend no hint that its residents suffer from shell-shock. “It’s scary-loud. It’s loud enough that it makes your heart stop for a second,” said Andy Wombold. ”It sounds like a shotgun or an explosion of some kind.” Wombold and dozens of other residents in the neighborhood are unable to say exactly what “it” is. All they know is the mysterious booms have provided several rude awakenings that sent residents scrambling in fear. “Last Monday, about a week and a half ago, it was around 3 a.m. and it was, ‘Pow!’ All the sudden we heard a loud explosion. It sounded like it came from inside our house. It shook the walls. It shook the floor. It shook the ceiling,” said Wombold. “We thought maybe a gas line had exploded and maybe our house was going to blow up. We thought it was really serious,” said Wombold. “It was like lightning struck directly beside the house,” said neighbor Dwayne Jones. Remembering the past and giving thought to the future are important, but only to the extent that they help one deal with the present. |

The clearing of these killer electrons known to exist in the Van Allen Belts caused noise.
[link to www.physorg.com] cut, Scientists previously discovered that electrons in the outer radiation belt can extract energy from these chorus waves to reach near-light speed and become killer electrons. The new research, confirmed by the team's THEMIS (Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms) observations, is that the chorus waves can be refracted into the inner portion of the radiation belts by dense plasma near Earth and bounce around from hemisphere to hemisphere within the radiation belts. When this happens, the chorus waves become disorganized and evolve into another type of radio wave called "hiss," according to the team. |

Loud Booms unexplained in Louisville,TN. I live between Bristol and Knoxville, and one night last week when I took the dog out, I saw flashes of light to the south. I even made my husband go out and look. It wasn't lightning because the skies were clear. I think it was too cool to be heat lightning also. Since you say you live in Tennessee, has the sky been pink up your way this past week, after the sun goes down? Last Edited by Nisa on 10/02/2011 05:21 AMKnowledge is Power, Truth is Key. |
