Is Smoking Marijuana A Sin? Christian Perspective!

By the looks of this post, you would think using a period instead of an exclamation point is a sin.

You should read Psalms 104 14 (but read the whole thing)

He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

lol, its a habit I admit, txt message habit, Its because im so excited!

If ur in the USA u should respect its laws if bot then just don't get drunk/high off of it. God isn't for drunkenness. Being high and drunk really aren't different. More importantly can u live without it. Is the drug the source of ur happiness and peace or God. In others words could u go a year without it and relay completely on God or would u go alittle crazy with out it always being in a bad mood.

I believe in God, Jesus, I go to church every Sunday im a Catholic. I smoke Marijuana everyday. It doesnt make me do sins, it doesnt make me a bad person. USE IT MAN! God gave us this plant, if it was a sin then looks like my priest is sinning all the time because he smokes cigarettes. Its all good man ;)

Is smoking marijuana a sin? First off let me tell you a little about myself! I am 22 years old and I love Jesus with all my heart, hes the reason i live and have the urge to continue to live! I am patiently waiting for his return to gather us up to be with him! Over the last 2 years of my life I made a complete U turn, basically I was clubbing 3-4 times a week, having pre-marital sex, getting smashed 3-4 times a week (goes along with the clubbing) you know basically the life that we are all told is the fun and cool life to live! I was born into the church and attended my whole life but never took it seriously at all, Just basically thought o well if this Jesus guy is real then ill just go to church once a week and be ok! I thought i was safe but was really living no better than anybody else and not being an example to others. I started smoking week at 19 years old and would say i smoke about 1-2 joints a day (usually at night cuz it relaxes me and i like to munch out lol) So basically to cut this story short, took a step back at my life and changed it! I started reading the bible for the first time in my life at 20 years old and it changed my life! I felt the spirit of god and it was the greatest feeling ever! I got baptized about 6 months ago and it was great, I always put it off because i was embarrassed of going to the front and getting baptized in front of a church attendance of around 500 people! So basically through this whole experience and even though i have been raised in the church my whole life and knew almost every story in the bible I found my newly found faith and Found Jesus my savior!

I live my life to the best of my ability and have cut off basically everything in my life that was sinful! including the hardest thing Sex! Keep in mind i am in a 4 year relationship with my girlfriend and I wasn't living as a christian for about 3 of those years! so it was very hard to cut the sex out until marriage! It was hard but it felt wrong and i knew i was sinning intentionally!

So to the question! I still smoke weed, i enjoy having a joint before bed and i dont feel like i am sinning when i am doing this at all! God created all things good and i see nothing wrong with marijuana!

pretend the media never existed, and you never heard of marijuana before! If you were to see somebody roll up this plant and smoke it would you look at them and be like o my you sinner! how could you smoke that plant! I see nothing wrong with it as long as you use it properly, the bible states nothing is wrong with it and it doesn't affect my life negative at all!

Nobody can give me a concrete answer and I am always left wondering and praying for god to let me know if this is a sin! please help! any fellow Christians out there with any thoughts on this? thank you!!

I'm confused. I had surgery 2 days ago. They gave me Percocet but I had already been taking it for a week for pain. Same rx. I tried to call for something stronger but the nurse was so resistant. My mother in law was over. I am on bed rest. Her son has become very abusive recently but she's stayed with me all day to help. He came home and blew up again- we think he may have intermittent explosive disorder. Needless to say I was in a lot of pain and now I was shaking. My mother in law pulled out a joint. I do not do drugs. I don't do them recreationally. I thought about it and thought that I hadn't slept in 4 days. I took 2 "pulls". I didn't sleep. I was all paranoid. I honestly don't know what to do. I am being harassed by husband and I wish I could just sleep. Maybe not be stressed or hurt by him at least while I recuperate. I do want permission. I am not looking to "have fun" I really don't want to open the door to the enemy if it makes me high. I don't want Gods anger. I want his blessings and his gifts. Please help. Btw husband not hitting me but violent in other ways. Excuse typos I'm on cracked iphone

Also, I am totally for medical marijuana. I'm going on a limb to say if it used as a sleep aid, well whats better? The big Pharma chemical laden pills they perscribe? Or marijuana?

I have never understood why the perscriptions they hand out are okay. Because a doctor gave them to you and they are destroying your body in some cases? Good grief...but some pot is bad? I know people that have it for chronic back pain, migranes, PSD, you name it. I know it can be abused and phony scrips handed out, but that's between you and the Lord. As for me, I would rather most people use weed if it kept them off some of the chemical compound poisons they put into people these days.
Lastly, some people abuse food too, and it acts like a drug to their body. It destorys the temple much the same. All of us put something in our body thats bad, whether we do it intentionally or not.
I'm not encouraging drugs, but I'm not excited about doctors ouching pills all the itme either. I always prefer the natural way when possible.

Could someone please reply to my earlier post today? I never take drugs but because of surgery as well as abusive husband I find I am unfurled. I am so alone here on bed rest. I told hubby we are separated as of today until he gets a psych eval. Meanwhile I can't sleep. At all. If I smoke what my mother in law left me, am I opening up the door tithe demonic??? Christian answers please. Stop arguin w each other for 1 second and help a little sister out.

100% wrong. The bible clearly states that God gave us every seed bearing plant for food. Plenty of people use pot in food and still receive the mind altering chemicals. The bible says nothing about smoking it being wrong, thus by the bible's own words it is okay. Either way, Jesus will forgive you.

Since the mind altering part happens whether you smoke it or eat it I can't see God having a problem with people smoking it. They will die when he is ready for them to, if the smoke harms your body and ends up killing you somehow it was God's will.

Heck if marijuana is a sin then so is coffee, soda and every prescription drug out there that saves millions of lives every day. (The coffee and the drugs, not soda.)

I'm sorry if I offend anybody.I used to smoke pot I am 20 I thought it wasn't bad but felt the holy spirit letting me know I was doing wrong I also used to dip snuff.I overcame both by the grace of god anything that alters your mind is a sin period.

not a sin it is medicine and one of the safest. our government is sinning letting us take prescription pills that kill. if it helps you then all is good imo. the problem is what government and laws have done to it which creates people to kill etc. so many people do it because its relaxing people dont want to be stressed out. or angry. we smoke and chill.make music draw relax focus. drive safer. have a better outlook. enhances life. if it dosent work like that for you and you have a bad experience its not for you.
