Sadly, college students today face at least a year longer in college simply to undergo remedial education as their reading and math skills are below par that high schools failed to prepare them for while spoon feeding them liberal propaganda.

These under educated youth allow themselves to be led around by the nose because of their inability to question or properly evaluate the government motives thus toe the dependant human line, and fail to comprehend that they are a citizen.

They become pawns for the liberals and nothing more and they cannot think for themselves outside of believing that they are owed an existence.

Near the end of my film class today some guy knocked on the door and said there was a walkout going on. Protesting high tuition rates and such.

We all just looked at each other and shrugged. One guy left, but it was probably just a good excuse to leave 20 mins early. My Professor who is probably an old hippie was amused by the intrusion.

When I left about a half hour later, this walk out had maybe 100 or so people in the main quad.

WHAT DO WE WANT???

I DON'T KNOW.

WHEN DO WE WANT IT???

WE'RE NOT SURE.

Wow I'm shocked...Uber Liberal acedemia?....can't believe it...

Here's a simple formula...

1) Destroy public schools so that a high school diploma is worthless and you can graduate with the combined knowledge of a slug and damp hamster.

2) Have all the bastions of higher education become bastions of liberal/socialist/marxist/progressive/leftist....yada yada viewpoints and ideas. AKA Brain Laundries.

3) have the cost of the now needed "College education" increase by 400% over the last 30 years or so.

4) Pour on grant money. Bout 40 billion a year just in grants, financial aid etc.

5) Student loans...now set to hit a record high of a trillion dollars and already exceeds all credit card debt in the US...

All this equals a nice tidy machine cranking out the indoctrinated and raking in some very nice money...and it just keeps on chuging....and getting bigger and bigger...

Google news currently has 7,966 mainstream articles about a 10-15,000 strong, probably less, protest. So far off reality its a joke. Imagine protest coverage like this for Katrina or Fukushima or BP spill or I dunno, Ron Paul.

Re: College professors now telling students to ditch class to Occupy Wall Street...
The top donors to the democratic party in the last presidential election were the Wall Street bankers. Hope and Change bought and paid for.

The job of the "liberal left" structure in this country is to co-opt and nullify popular movements. That is their function for the money elite.

One thing they fear is a popular movement that breaks outside of their established polarized system.

Thus we are seeing the typical "left" apparatus being brought into play: unions, "community" organizations (such as ACORN), university faculty, etc, all attempting to make this their movement, when the reality is the first kernels of the Occupy Wall Street movement started with disgruntled and disenfranchised youth on social internet sites like 4chan who were tired of watching companies post "not hiring" signs along side their record profit reports.

The next step is for Democratic politicians to steal the key talking points, twist them in a way that will assuage the masses, yet will not change one facet of the corporatist greed machine that keeps them in power. Thus, the masses will feel "heard," and will disperse and let the politicians handle the "change."

All the while the Republican job will be to demonize, demoralize, and delegitimize the movement as the rantings of insane, unwashed layabouts with nothing better to do than disrupt "real" business.

That's how the money powers want it to happen, at least. So far, so good.

The game is rigged folks. There is no socialist plot, no facist plot, no left or right side to align with. It is all a shell game, rigged by money powers, for money powers.

As a college student, I can slightly agree. I don't feel like I fit in, because a lot of it is bullshit. But don't discredit the people in college who actually take the time to study OUTSIDE of school...and apply it to school. I am doing my best to show my peers that there is more. Learning does not stop in the classroom or when you graduate.

Though I agree with you, there really are people waking up and changing. Time will tell..

There's not a single protester out there who has lost their home, their job, their pension, their retirement, their son or daughter in a war, or any of their freedoms.

Nope, they're all communist, marxist, layabouts who are being paid by some left wing organizations in a conspiracy engineered by the cabal to bring it all down man.

“Professors are asking their classes to take the day to actually go to this rally,” Rivera said.

Some students at Brooklyn College heeded the call and joined the protest early Wednesday afternoon. About 150 students walked out of class at Brooklyn College to join the Wall Street protesters.

So all of the sudden people here try to rationalize why protesting is a dumb thing. Why can\'t you people make friends with non conservatives. It is not like conservatives are not funded or only consists of grassroots efforts.
Always siding with capital and corporate and against socialist laws should make it rather clear that big money is spend on your group from corporate.

I recently hired a young grad from design school to build signs...you know...start at the bottom and learn... Can't really design signs if you don't know how they're constructed.

Couldn't read a tape measurer, couldn't do basic fractions, and stank of entitlement - plus he lied in his interview and said he knew measurements like the back of his hand... Acted like his paper made him too good to actually work...
Not to mention his total lack of common sense...

I head he works at walmart now. Good for him.

The GI bill financed part of my education and the rest was through my sweat and hard work and until the university realized that I already had two associate degrees wanted me to enroll in remedial education classes.

I finally took their tests and aced their tests, they backed off, and the majority of classes required were filler to meet their minimum credits for a degree and I graduated with a duel degree and almost fulfilling an art degree to boot.

It scared me as to how much college students did not know and how they followed the lead of liberal educators instead of formulating their own opinions.
