Japan earthquake changed gravity…

The devastating earthquake that struck Japan earlier this year was powerful enough to slightly alter the pull of gravity under the affected area, scientists have found. Anything that has mass has a gravity field that attracts objects toward it. The strength of this field depends on a body's mass. Since the Earth's mass is not spread out evenly, its gravity field is stronger in some places and weaker in others. The magnitude 9.0 Tohoku-Oki temblor in March was the most powerful earthquake to hit Japan and the fifth-most powerful quake ever recorded. To see how the temblor might have deformed the Earth there, scientists used the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites to analyze the area's gravity field before and after the quake.

Sunrise" Two Days Early in Greenland
Jan 13, 2011; 8:10 AM ET
An unusual occurrence happened in Ilulissat, which is the third largest settlement in Greenland with about 4,500 residents. This city is located about 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle on the west coast of the island.
The sun "rose" for the first time in 2011 on Tuesday, January 11th. Since this city is north of the Arctic Circle, there is nothing unusual with the sun not being visible near the winter solstice. What is unusual is the sun was not supposed to rise until two days later, on Thursday, January 13th.
Why did this happen? Scientists are saying that there are no astronomical reasons. Here are two possible explanations:
1) Scientists are hypothesizing that glacier levels located nearby have dropped and allowed to the sun to be visible sooner.
2) Another hypothesis is that there is an unusual concentration of methane gas in the atmosphere. This would have caused sunlight to bend in a way that made the sun visible to the city two days early. This bending of light is particularly important when the sun is low on the horizon (ie. sunrise or sunset). The sun barely rises in Ilulissat for a few minutes currently, so it is obviously very low on the horizon.

Volcano information

New Activity/Unrest: | Hierro, Canary Islands (Spain) | Krakatau, Indonesia | Nabro, Eritrea | Rincón de la Vieja, Costa Rica | Shiveluch, Central Kamchatka (Russia) | Villarrica, Central Chile
Ongoing Activity: | Cleveland, Chuginadak Island | Etna, Sicily (Italy) | Karymsky, Eastern Kamchatka (Russia) | Kilauea, Hawaii (USA) | Kizimen, Eastern Kamchatka (Russia) | Puyehue-Cordón Caulle, Central Chile | Sakura-jima, Kyushu | Santa María, Guatemala

And we know the Sun is changing…

Now we need info on the magnetosphere, the moon, water tables, temperature, and other earth changes.

Please contribute info to this thread. If we work together to gather the pieces of the puzzle, we can unravel the mystery.

DANCING WITH THE STARS
Last Tuesday, we received a memorandum from NASA in which solar physicists informed us of the discovery of shrinkage to "extraordinarily low levels" of the Earth’s transitional layer of terrestrial atmosphere and the deep space where the radiation, emitted by the Sun, hits directly onto our atmosphere.
The anomaly had been observed previously, but not with the magnitude now observed.
The altitude and thickness of the ionosphere depends upon the ultraviolet radiation incoming from the Sun, which affects the upper limits of the atmospheric layer in question; hence, my logical deduction was that the amount of ultraviolet radiation incoming from the Sun has diminished considerably. Immediately, I associated the anomaly with the lassitude of the Sun whilst entering its activity cycle-24, having not yet settled down, when it should have done so more than a year ago.
Hardly had I begun to unravel the note on the ionosphere shrinkage, when I received another official NASA note, on the discovery of a great breach in the Earth magnetic field. The Earth's magnetic field is "a bubble of magnetism that surrounds Earth" which shields us from the energetic particles of the solar wind (plasma).
NASA’s scientists have said that they have never observed so great a failure or breach in the magnetosphere caused by a fluctuation of a solar magnetosphere pointing North. The solar magnetic field is fluctuating, or changing, and the event is affecting all the bodies of the Solar System, Earth amongst them.
I correlated the terrestrial magnetic fluctuation to the loss of power of photons carrying electromagnetic force arriving from the Sun and the interstellar space. I had thought the same some days ago, when I learned about a “raw” hydrogen ejection from the western limb of the solar disc.
No doubt, this kind of phenomena has happened before throughout the existence of the Solar System… The difference is that we now have devices for assessing the magnitude of the problem.
The short term consequences are that our winters will be colder, probably glacial, and extended. It is as if we had left the house door open at the height of a winter storm. Heat is escaping from the Earth’s atmosphere to outer space at an accelerated rate.
We do not know what effects those anomalies will have on the living beings on Earth. One thing is certain, their lives will be affected in one form or another, although we do not know to what degree they will be disturbed. I can only assume it will be a challenge for the individuals to adapt.
We do not have automobiles and factories working on the Sun; consequently, both phenomena do not depend on us, or carbon dioxide, or Bush, or Obama, or any government on Earth… these are very normal recurring changes in the observable Universe.

Re: Are the magnetic poles moving or are we?
These mass anomalies are exceedingly insignificant. The accompanying gravitonic inconsistency are very small.

Gravity is a very weak force as it is. You easily overcome the entire mass of the earth with your puny muscles.

Still I suppose Chaos over time could...

The Magnetic poles though, they have been moving for long before the EQ in Japan, or Chile or wherever. Not related directly.

Indirectly, the sun.

I agree that mass anomalies can be insignificate. However with the Hadron collider in operation, and the human competitive spirit combined with financial reward, I find the Japan earthquake anomaly suspect....especially because we have a nuclear power plant in the center of it.

Perhaps these mass anomalies are actually individual events in themselves, but a cause & affect earth science drama is unfolding in an un-natural ways.

Ya well there are some pretty seemingly un-natural stuff going these days.

Listen, dont forget that since the Japan nuclear incident, there have been problem after problem with nuclear plants, globally.

Re: Are the magnetic poles moving or are we?
I think we have earth/space natural events unfolding, that may be compounded by the science/technology un-natural events.
I am a huge sciencetard....but when we start accelerating particles, exploring with mini black holes and study dark matter...

which brings me back to the Japan Gravity story...what has caused this anomaly? The power plant? The earthquake? Something more?

Re: Are the magnetic poles moving or are we?
I have read or seen a video (can't remember) something about all the planets in our universe getting warmer.. not just earth.
Did anyone else read or see anything about this?

It seems to me they felt that the heating of the universe was causing all kinds of anomalies on all the planets, and could explain the speed with which the Ice is melting in our Northern and Southern Arctic's.
The displaced water would then affect the tectonic plates with extra or weight on some and less weight on those loosing the ice, which would in turn cause volcanoes and earthquakes.

Nasa Launches Rockets to moon

NASA's Grail twins — each the size of a washing machine — won't land on the moon but will conduct their science survey from lunar orbit.
Beginning in March, once the spacecraft are orbiting just 34 miles above the moon's surface, scientists will monitor the slight variations in distance between the two to map the moon's entire gravitational field. The measurements will continue through May.
"It will probe the interior of the moon and map its gravity field 100 to 1,000 times better than ever before. We will learn more about the interior of the moon with Grail than all previous lunar missions combined," Weiler said.
