Also depending on its intensity if intensity is very high meaning you're probably so relaxed and unafraid of the unknown it simply shoots you out of the body like from a canon. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1516837 It literally feels like your body is overcome by vibrations. Its similar to the feeling of a limb falling asleep. |

Also depending on its intensity if intensity is very high meaning you're probably so relaxed and unafraid of the unknown it simply shoots you out of the body like from a canon. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1516837 Yea not everyone feels the vibrations. It feels like your whole body is physically vibrating back and forth at a high rate. You may even think your heart is racing (but your physical heart is calm and relaxed), people are afraid they may be having a heart attack it can be so strong, without the pain. I once thought we were having an earthquake. It may be that people who do not feel the vibrations just have it so naturally high that it's not perceived. I have read of people just laying down, not making any attempt at an OBE at all and they stand up to get a drink or something and realize their hand goes through a glass, or a door knob. Some people have all the luck >_< I agree with your earlier post, imagination is not having an OBE, it is ONLY used to get your mind used to the idea, to make it more natural for someone to accept leaving their body, or it can be used as a technique for some people. I personally used my imagination as a way to keep it in my mind that I wanted to leave my body, so I could be standing in line at the bank and thinking about leaving my body or thinking about death and what it means and I found it easier later to realize I am more than my physical body and slipping into your other bodies (switching consciousness really) is a fully natural thing to do. I used to wonder about death and what comes after you die, and having OBE's certainly changes your beliefs into facts, that's more motivation. |

I haven't practiced in years but I know if I tried it over a few days i'd start having lucid dreams, vibrations, all sorts of craziness. It's what works best for me. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 3038899 United States 10/11/2011 01:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is a very subtle feeling or understanding way in the back of your mind that you must learn to recognize and coerce into action. It is something that cannot be explained but when you experience it you will understand what people are trying to tell you. Anyway, after a year of disciplined meditation back in 1996, I had given up trying to AP. That is when it happened. When I said F it. So for me, trying too hard actually prevented it. Or perhaps I was training myself. Remember that all AP's are directed by your higher or future self. So ask your future self for help. After many years of AP, mainly conscious dreaming, I've found that using the hypnogogic state works best for me. Since you make your attempts while going to bed this might also work for you. There is also a very good book called Conscious Dreaming that I recommend to everyone. Anyway, as you fall asleep, maintain your focus on staying conscious. Or awake. Allow your body to fall asleep but don't let your mind drift off. Pay attention for that exact moment when your body naturally drifts off to sleep and keep your mental focus. Sleep is a state induced by body chemicals like melatonin and such. That is physical. Maintain your mind in a conscious state during that process and you will sleep into a dream with full self awareness. It is necessary to keep a dream journal every day so that your subconscious will remember that realm. People refer to this as lucid dreaming but that's pop terminology as this state is a conscious dream, not lucid. From a conscious, self aware, dreaming state you can elevate to astral projections, remote viewings, etc.. Once you have attained a few conscious dreams your vibrational rate will rise and ease of this phenomenon will increase. BTW, I have tried and practiced every method I could find. I've read every AP book ever printed over the years. For a natural and user friendly method, try the hypnogogic state method of conscious dreaming. It has by far been the easiest method for me. Good Luck. Remember, there is no try, there is only do. |

After five hours wake meditate for 20 minutes eat another banana, take a piss or what ever lol, and go back to bed. Lay in bed on your back and take deep breaths and wait till you feel you body has fell asleep AND DO NOT MOVE, then you could either roll out or think of a place and you will go through a vortex and youll be there. MAKE SURE YOUR IN SLEEP PARALYSIS BEFORE YOU TRY TO ROLL OUT OR ELSE IT WONT WORK. And getting stoned does help alot but try not getting dependent on it. Hope I helped and good luck!! Indi Intro (OP) User ID: 1581688 United States 10/14/2011 10:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Im going to describe my used processes and methods, as well as my experiances during the time I attempt my APs. Usually, I am stoned, , and I decide that I want to meditate. I will sit up in a chair, on the couch,on my bed, or outside; also I lay down either on the couch of my bed. I begin meditating, making the feel of energy flow through my body, and thats when I begin to enter the stage where I feel heavy. During this state, I begin trying to focus on making it feel like I am even heavier, but that my entire body is as comfortable and relaxed as can be. I gernerally start with my feet, and I move up to my head, gradually relax every part of my body. I continue to breathe deeply (unstated before), and slightly left myself drift off the help further my advancements towards the OBE. I don't know if that will aqctually help or not, but it is how I have been trying. Soon after I am completely relax, and my body is nearing the paralysis stage, and I begin feeling the vibrations. This is the hardest stage though, because it comes and goes, as does my attention, because I don't understand completwely what to focus on. I am deffintly thinging to much, not letting it occur, and then when I stop focus, I begin to sleep. The vibrations can get pretty intense, sometime I lose contrentration, but I try to remain as passive as I can be. I've not consiously succeed, but perhaps I have done it, I just don't rmeember. OKAY YOU PROS! Time to critically anyalzye my process and destory it. Tell me what is right, and wrong, and what I should do to help further my progess to learning this phenommenoa. Im thinking my lack of certain faith of a soul may be it, but as the days go on, and my perspective evolves no stop, I am convincing myself of it's exisistance. Or my true self, rather. Any help and advice, hints, insights; theyre all welcome. |

JFav User ID: 1310820 United States 10/14/2011 10:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I started the afternoon with heavy meditation, what seemed like 15 minutes was actually an hour. I got up and did normal things saturating my mind with techniques on how to AP and read everything about it. I told myself "tonight I will astral project." Here is what happened. I layed down and told myself I would astral project, I popped in my earphones and listened to Owl City quite loudly to really drown out any noise around the house from roomates etc. I found listening to a band you enjoy with a positive feel really keeps your mind awake without distracting your thoughts. I focused my mind to nothing just staring at the dots you see from the cones and rods in the eye. Started to focus on a group of dots, and that is when I saw this blackish gray smaller dot floating about. I started to follow the dot with my third eye (basically see from the mind and not your physical closed eye lids) until it started moving rapidly making it harder to follow. I called upon a spirit guide or someone to help me get an OBE and that is when the dot took off directly in front of me. It was at this point where what you normally see in the black when you try to sleep is kind of 2d, it became 3d. I saw the vortex and started following the dot towards it, it went faster and faster. It was at this time where the bed would shake here and there and I could feel my physical eyes twitching like crazy. My heart was racing and my entire body had the pins and needles like when you have the chills or a arm falls asleep. They crashed over me in waves stronger each time with my heart feeling like it was going faster and faster. It was at this time images were flashing in front of me such as a massive flower of life behind the vortex and other objects I cannot explain how they looked. I kept going and the vibrations started to subside and I just floated up towards the ceiling of my room. It was at this euphoric state where I was on the top of my room just sitting there that I felt the feeling that I had died from a heart attack or something and I became quite scared wanting to go back to my normal self. Just like that bam I was back in my physical body I jumped up out of bed and went to tell my roomates in detail what had happened. I plan to engage in it again, it is just something that is very personal for each individual. It changed my life as far as knowing that the astral realm is a very real thing, however the feeling that you died and you wont see anyone you love ever again took over and manifested fear into me. I plan to go back, I just have that fear of the unknown take over me. I understand I cannot die from it but the feeling is so sobering. Xisuthros Rex User ID: 908143 United States 10/14/2011 02:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | To get to the state you need to take over the autonomic systems breathing. Breathe slower than what your body would take over if you stopped paying attention. The transition is a very physical experience. Being able to still feel the regular rhythm of breathing will keep you volitional in the state. The whole point is to gather enough concentration/chi to have a stable light body. But, it's a passive gathering you can't force it. The fastest I ever got to the state was getting up after not being able to fall asleep and doing isometric kungfu forms out in the yard. Worked every muscle group, and power breathed the whole time. I laid back down and literally I was already starting to vibrate, 20 seconds later I popped out with ease. Good luck! This is my day, there are many like it...but this one is mine. |

You have to gather enough chi to make a stabilized light body. Then roll/levitate out, and then consciously form you organs of perception! Make sure you can see, then make sure you can see your hands, listen try to hear something, clap your hands. Smells. If you can get to the point of reforming the sense of smell in the astral you are good to go!
