Compromise; Politicians,Government and Protests
O.K here is something I have wanted to get of my chest with these damn protests

Let me start out this whole movement is due to lack of compromise between all parties.
[link to en.wikipedia.org]
Compromise is one of the single most influential and powerful uses of political and democratic power especially in the U.S. It is in fact what has allowed our democracy to continue for so long. The Missouri compromise and the 3/4's compromise are great examples of this. I realize both of those deal with slavery but that isn't the point. The point is America has lived with this idea in mind for quite some time, until recently. Recently we have come to this idea that our ideology is immovable whatever that may be. Compromise is accomplished by looking at both sides of the situation not by only looking at it from your side. In another case you can reach compromise if you can make others see your side of the argument through nonviolence, coercion rarely counts.

To make this practical for everyone let's use a small micro example.

Two people are going out for Dinner, a man and a woman. The man wants to go to a Mexican restaurant and the woman wants to go to a french restaurant. Well what do they do? Does one give up their position entirely and side bitterly with the other? No the man and woman will come to a compromise because they see the similarity in their argument. Both want food and both need to eat. So the man decides to go the french restaurant in exchange for letting him go to bowling night with his buddies next Thursday.

If you are in a relationship where one wins the entire time well it's probably not very healthy for you and more than likely you won't last long or the other will become subservient to you ending up with a seemingly obedient dog, pent up with anger at never expressing their opinion eventually that dog will revolt because of the treatment you give it.

O.K now we know how beneficial compromise is to us and the U.S now onto my point.

First Off Protests are great.

The very freedom of assembly is guaranteed in our constitution. This was established because the federalists(big central gov) and the anti-federalists (Small central gov, more states rights) had an impasse in trying to ratify the darn thing. Anti federalists did not want the government to become to big for it's own good as exampled by many other of the past monarchical society's like Brittan and The Holy Roman Empire and enforce it's many rules laws and regulations to benefit whoever was in power. The federalists wanted power to control the republic and assure it did not become too fractured. Thus the Bill of rights was created not because they wanted to but because if they did not the constitution and it's ideals would never have come to fruition.

The anti federalists knew with protest they could keep the government in check and that it would bring about compromise or a way of changing govt at least.

With that said I dislike politics, it's a simple argument over what one person thinks and then that politician can be elected and force his will or his/her backers will onto the population with the other side ultimately loosing out. I don't really understand why we have to enforce our will upon people that don't want it on this day and age it is not productive nor helpful to the human race society or our current economic position. In any case I don't trust most any politician, except perhaps Ron Paul because he has the possibility to make America more free but I digress.

Any politician be that left right conservative or liberal communist capitalist, that supports a protest in any capacity seeks to co-opt it to suit their dirty cause and that is to seek more power and control over you.

In short if the government supports your protest, YOU SHOULD STOP PROTESTING IMMEDIATELY.

Think about it, why in the world would the government support anything that will supposedly change the government, let alone your own interests? Let's not forget why Government exists. It's very existence is the antithesis of change It hates change always have and always will. That is one of the reasons why when a politican says "change" you should run screaming with your head on fire proclaiming to the heavens that that person is a fraud.

Defintion of government: [link to en.wikipedia.org]

So "WHY?" you might ask? Because change is always counterproductive to what a government does and that is keep control of the system and keep order. That is all a government wants to do, forget the individuals politicians and their ideals when you voted for them, as a whole a government hates anything that would cause the life of it's citizens to change in any aspect. So the reason a government exists is to keep chaos(change) at bay. However since chaos or well organized chaos is the structure of the universe government delays the inevitable, It becomes the governments priority to take control of anything it views as a threat to itself to prevent any real change be that bad or good. And if it is bad or good it only seems this way to us because all it will do is ultimately give the government an upper hand in all matters of the affairs of people living under that government.SO What you are likely doing is perpetuating status quot without possibility of compromise on any issue. The government hates compromise because it actually means change and loss of power on both sides, the government always wants to win and will do anything in it's power to make sure it does.

Politicians are not your friends , government's are not your friend. They are a necessary evil used only to keep you under control. The problem arises when people who wield such power are so inexplicably irresponsible with it that they want more.

So to summarize Compromise is what a good society is based on. Protests are great things and wonderful exercises of will toward the rulers of your lives. That is until the rulers of your lives that make the decisions of how you should live start to agree with you, then you have two options

1. you can declare that entity to be completely insane for supporting you against themselves. but accept their help anyway (who would do that?)
or

2. suspect the reason the government supports you is to only further consolidate power that they possess through you and your friends naive nature. Then reject the help of the government in any form or fashion or any other entity or institution and declare your movement is human movement for humanity and has the best interest for humanity and will further the cause of humanity

Thank you for your time, I hope this helps people or at least opens them up to the possibility that movements such as this although having the best of intentions can be rotten at the core.

Take care GLP!
