Warnings as China's rise spooks the West

Will the Rise of China Lead to War? was the ominous title of a recent essay in the journal Foreign Affairs. Written by Professor Charles Glaser of George Washington University, its opening gambit was: "The rise of China will likely be the most important international relations story of the 21st century, but it remains unclear whether that story will have a happy ending."
