Wow, total primitive video. It seems a 12 year old would enjoy slightly. However we have whole generation consumed by this stupid circus show. Were gonna take a glance back in our evolution feeling embarrassed, and dumbstruck. This is one fine example. That shiny car resembled a Toy car. The money was an obvious subliminal. Gosh humanity, it's time to grow up

I've already made the choice of TRUTH over SEX a long time ago. When I saw the Truth, I said to myself " I want all of it" and proceed to throw myself into the cold dark abyss. It's cold and lonely down here, but at least there is PEACE.

I don't hold any interest on sex anymore. You guys can have all of it. All the girls in the world are yours. All the porn, all the money.

I don't care.

Re: Destroying Our Youth: One Music Video & PC Game At A Time
op you're obviously from an older generation and just dont get it and judge, askin people if they have love. everyone has love. im 24, i grew up in a 3rd world country n was lucky enough to have a super nintendo n donkey kong country fall on my lap, before that i was exposed to alot of dangers from general neglect and freedom to go out where i wanted n when.

but sometimes i stayed in n relaxed with my satanic entertainment.

im sure the generation that came before you judged you based on how much more futuristic you were in comparison.

to say people dont have love because they were born into a technologically advanced entertainment based generation is ignorant.

im 24, i know im young..but i look at children now and wish i was a part of their generation, internet and knowledge at their finger tips. dance central on kinect(xbox controllerless game that scans your movements). so many boys from my generation arent open enough to dance or were never taught, including myself.

icarly and web casts, must be a blast when youre under 13 and overflowing with creativity.

dont even dare say the new generation lacks love, they have the love of the most updated present age and i think you are jealous, probably 5 times as jealous as me.

i cant wait to be in my 30's and seeing what that generation of 15 year olds accept and dont judge.

music entertainment? do you realize the line between rock and rap is nearly completely broken? its future pop now, autotune. when i was 13-17 its was rock freak vs ghetto thug, now its kids are closer.

stop being a team killer, we all have a purpose and i have plenty of love as well as elite mmorpg online game characters and in the real world i can run a mile in under 7 minutes do over 15 pull ups and hundresds of sit ups, and i know many more like me.

and one day i'll marry a female who is a healthy/gamer/entertained/down to earth philosophical reader similar to myself, perhaps 3 to 5 years younger than me because most girls from my generation of girls was raised on barby dolls and make up, and judge that which they dont understand.

dont be a team killer.

It's not an issue of "is this enjoyable entertainiment".

It's an issue of am I doing somthing of my own free will? Or has someone usurped my freewill, making me an unwitting slave.

oh dont get me started on that lol

yes i realize my will isnt really mine, i speak 2 languesges that were given to me, my language is thought as far as i know. i feel like a tool everytime i have to form a sentence.

i know i have a crazy comic book view of how women should look(thanks to x-men...rogue..omg)

i will admit my addiction to video games, i love them. everyone has things they cant put down though. i love women too. i love animals and food and comedy, but if i start questioning all the things i partake in then where will that lead me.

i can just be me, which is what the world molded me to be, in the path i had.

which was moldel by the past, which if you follow back, was molded by time and space..then we can start to get religious.

things are the way they are and theres nothing we can do about it.

thats the major will that gorverns the will that governs our will.

we are supposed to be fucked up here ad now.

if after i die i realize how immortal i am, i will be infinitely thrilled, and that makes the fear and pain worth it. that might even be the point of all this, to be grateful, until your soul feel ungrateful again. or not.

I don't fall into the same traditional heaven n' hell paradigm as you do, Lisa.

And I've been an avid video game player since pong and atari came out when I was little. (I can't stand MTV and videos.)

But recently I downloaded this dumb iPhone game called Crime City. It's very repetitive, and in part of it you see a your little character go to other character's 'hoods' and shoot them.

After playing a few hours I fell asleep and had an exceedingly realistic dream of a man going up to another man and shooting him dead. In the dream it was realistic as real life and I woke up with that terrible scene, hard to shake off. Pretty hard to deny where I got the impression from, as I'd been playing that stupid game for hours, even though the game was not realistic.

Also as a student of hypnosis, and hypnotherapy, I've learned that it's all the same to the subconscious mind. In terms of how our minds work, even without my own experience, I'd have to come to the same conclusions as the OP comes to from her 'religitard' perspective.
Quoting: John.

^^^^ This.
Sure, 'Most' people who watch a murder on TV, or the same on a video, or video game, are not going to run out and perform the same action, but it IS a form of mental programming. Once your mind sees this action (or act it out in a video game), it is one small step towards your acceptance of the action. The more you see it, the less you are likely to react against it. Anyone who has been thru Dianetics knows what I'm talking about. Its a form of desensitizing.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. – C. S. Lewis
"Anarchism is not a romantic fable but the hardheaded realization, based of five thousand years of experience, that we cannot entrust the management of our lives to kings, priests, politicians, generals, or county commissioners." - Edward Abbey

"But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist." -Lysander Spooner

i agree, that video is thrash. and as a humble natural artist i will say art will never die.

images are everything, and i agree music videos like this and violent video games do instill images into our subconscious and affect us.

i wonder alot about what the exact first image to get filed into my subconscious was, maybe it could be a key to something back there. very important.

i just could not stand op saying people had no love, and questioning their love in the fist page.

thats bullshit.

people are born into alot of scenarios, take a bastard kid from a poor country that sees him mother get raped, go ask him how much love he has OP.

alot of people are lucky and i believe, blessed to be born into this high tech entertained society. i believe there was a merit to have that special place in line at this age we live in, to be born into this society, i wasn't, but just barely.

everyone has love

and before lemon tries to tell me to be concerned with my thoughts and life, im not. thanks though, i realize im another drop in the river. and though i dont remember the sun my hydrogen and oxygen molecules came from, i know there was a source and its still influencing me and everything around me. no matter how twisted the river gets.

just brain banged that one out.

As a youth myself, going to college, and constantly being surrounded by mainstream media against my liking, I must agree with Lisa. Whether from a religious viewpoint or not, spiritual viewpoint or material viewpoint--it doesn't matter, moral depravity is NOT okay.

Yes, one can always argue (and it seems to be what they always say) that it is "just entertainment" or "don't take it seriously."

Really?

Being a young adult in these times and simplye TRYING to avoid the grasp of materialistic messages and peers is very, very hard to do. For instance, I do not have a facebook or a "social network." My peers sometimes look at me like I am crazy for this. I walk around campus and see many suggestive T-shirts, for example, today I saw a guy with a shirt "my mind is dirty but my shoes are always clean." Materialism and sex. I have a couple of friends who say they wouldn't mind joining the army because they are "used to it" because of Call of Duty.

Now, don't get me wrong. I grew up on videogames. I still love playing games like Halo--violent games. What I am saying is we cannot, EVER dismiss these intoxicating messages as nothing serious. These messages ARE serious. how obvious is it to a lot of us on glp that the messages in mass media are evil? I promise you if I walk around my campus asking if my peers view Nicki Minaj as evil, they will laugh in my face.

It is the like the times of Noah I feel.

A new popular song Super Bass. Video below, I just watched it as this song is on the radio all of the time. Maybe it's just me, but this looks like borderline porn, or pretty darn close to it.

I'm not even going to bring up lady gaga's videos, those are outrageously disgusting.

But it seems to me that all of these pop starts are promoting one thing, SEX. Sending a clear signal to our children that women are sex objects, it's cool to dress like a hoe, and that's it.

The boys are no better. They spend their time killing everyone on the pc video games that promote nothing but revolting violence.

So, there you have it........sex and violence. The main focus of entertainment in this country, all aimed at our youth.

Lord help us all.
Quoting: Lisa*Lisa

OMG, people expressing their sexuality. What a crime.

Oh, wait...repression that makes sex forbidden and tantalizing is the real crime.

How interested would Men be in breasts if they grew up around topless Women?

Do you see African tribesmen from those topless tribes just sucking boob all day long?

As far as video games, you've obviously bought into media garbage trying to depict video games as violence generators.

Guess what?
The Crusades, WW1 & WW2, Vietnam...all pre-video games.

Do I have to even mention that Nazi's sure as heck weren't playing video games. Were they violent?

LMAO

Anyways, next time I suggest using your own head and critically and logically thinking instead of just totally accepting the spew that emanates from someone else' mouth-hole.

grammar, spellcheck my big words in my posts on this page, if i wasnt(does it offend u that i didint include the ' in my wasn't?) flying through the keyboard n made a mistake.

U r the conditioned one, u were brainwashed to judge with grammar, im flying thought the key board here. sorry, lets not get off topic here though k?

you're the one fighting the nature of things based on religious principle, that you READ or WAS TOLD.

who do you think allowed the bible to circulate the earth?

the same power that allows everything corrupted to circulate, but that power is also allowed to reign over this world by a greater power.

point is, u are a product of the same conditioning these "loveless children" but just outdated.

you were programmed to judge the new generation. thing is though, the new generations are becoming less and less judgemental.

does it make you mad that i don't start my sentences with capitals after i administer periods?

While videogames may not turn people into mass murderers, they will have at least some subtle effects on desensitizing people to violence. I have been a gamer for 12 years and recently quit to experience the outdoors more, and I'm feeling a lot more at peace with myself.

The mainstream music industry on the other hand is definitely pushing oversexualization.

It's soooo refreshing to see a young person that hasn't bought into the evil programming.

Kudos to you!

omg easyD ur being a baby bitch noob. dude c'mon, people need to cross the "open immoral" barrier so we can move on.

you all know that people in the past were immoral, they just hid it.

this is all bullshit.

now the media is messed up, cant argue that, but in the light of it they are letting people have truth, people are immoral, if not you are a lie.

you cant blame violence on movies and video games, war has ALWAYS existed.

brothels have always been around.

u have nothing here, just wasting your own time.

let the media free people from their self delusions of fake purity.

you are violent, you get mad, you become attracted, you lust.

gays can be openly gay

you want nature to be locked up in a box

"ur" and "U" are not words. Do you know how to use punctuation and capitalization in a sentence?

You poor dear! Fundamentalist and a grammar nazi too. What a double handicap. Tsk, tsk.

Out of pity, I'll help you. Part of what he said (and I paraphrase), "It is incorrect to assume that modern technology is the cause of seemingly modern (but actually ancient) problems. We have always had criminals and deviants, wars and rampant sex. They are all within the usual spectrum of human nature.

"In the past the lack of mass communication allowed everything to APPEAR more "moral" but the same tendencies and inclinations still existed. Our modern games, videos and computers don't change the message, just the medium.

"For you to claim otherwise means you are either ignorant or lying."

Does that help you understand?

The word 'smut' is long gone but the actual smut is still here.

In a similar vein....

I used to have aids but they died.

Re: Destroying Our Youth: One Music Video & PC Game At A Time
thing is though, the new generations are becoming less and less judgemental.

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1595751

You call it "less judgmental" and I call it without morals. There is no lines, no right and wrong......everything goes.

I see a big problem with that, but don't you worry now because there is nothing I can do about it. But, I"ll never accept it or like it. I call a spade a spade, and wrong is wrong no matter which way you toss it.

The proof is in black and white. Look at the statistics 50 years ago and compare them with today. Facts are facts, and the fact is that all this "non judgmental" stuff isn't working out.
