They now have the date as for 2005 YU55 as 11/8/2011!!!!
When did that happen?
How can they change the date and it keep the same trajectory?

It has always been around midnight on the 8th for its closest pass by earth,

and early on the 9th for its even closer pass to the moon.

In the rest of the world 9/11 is 11/9 and visa versa.

If the moon were hit, I cannot do the math, but I know its orbit would be greatly affected, and its pull on earth would be modified. Gravitational pulls and weaknesses would change, which would result in plate tectonic effects.

If you would just click on the link it would take you to the JPL website and the orbital diagram. It is there you would see the closest approach takes place on Nov 09th at .0023 LD - pretty darn close, but not close enough for certain DOOM!

Let's actually do the maths.
A back-of-the-envelope first Order of Magnitude calculation.

For simplicity we'll presume the asteroid is a cube 1 kilometre to a side, mostly made of lead, to get an average density 10 grammes per cubic centimetre, moving at a preposterous 100 km/s.

The mass of such an object would be 100,000(cm)^3 * 0.01 (kg/cm^3) = 10,000,000,000,000 kg or 10 billion tonnes.

The mass of the Moon is something like 7.35 × 10^22 kg.

Which is 7,350,000,000 times as much.

So in a perfectly inelastic collision the object can transfer 1/7,350,000,000 of its velocity on the Moon.

Which gets me 0.0136 millimetre per second.

There's a reason engineers and scientists call doing an OOM calculation a sanity check.

Trajectory of Asteroid 2005 YU55 - November 8-9, 2011
Near-Earth asteroid 2005 YU55 will pass within 0.85 lunar distances from the Earth on November 8, 2011. The upcoming close approach by this relatively large 400 meter-sized, C-type asteroid presents an excellent opportunity for synergistic ground-based observations including optical, near infrared and radar data.

An animated illustration by JPL shows the Earth and moon flyby geometry for November 8th and 9th when the object will reach a visual brightness of 11th magnitude and should be easily visible to observers in the northern and southern hemispheres.

The closest approach to Earth and the Moon will be respectively 0.00217 AU and 0.00160 AU on 2011 November 8 at 23:28 and November 9 at 07:13 UT.

And remember: Fema will do the first ever nationwide EAS "test" on 11-9-11 at 2pm (EST). And it just so happens the United States will be conducting for the FIRST TIME EVER a “NATIONAL EMERGENCY BROADCAST TEST MESSAGE” to the NATION on, you guessed it 11/9/11

It's deff close to the border of 11/8 and 11/9! Remember that the JPL for this could be fucked with to show I coming close but we won't know either way till it's actually here! Like the roller coaster just clicking and higher and higher to the top! When it will fall...no one but God knows lol
