and on... look up about your stomach having its own "brain" it is a colony of bacteria that knows how to talk to your subconscious. If it detects something very better / poison it will tell your subconscious to throw the f up. Your "soul" doesnt have a lot of control, and if you fight it, just makes it worse. they all talk with electricity.

Call to a friend or relative whom you were close to and has passed. They will come, maybe not right away but within 24 hours you should receive a message. They are around us all the time. The living ignore the dead.

Most can not see the dead. However the dead interact with us using the other senses. For instance a sudden smell of flowers, or perfume, or smoke with no plausible physical origin. A random though or memory involving said person. Light touches, light breezes, sounds, dreams, things moving on their own, coincidence, and synchronicity.

If you call to them within a meditative state the experience can be very intense.

Spirit never dies. By it's nature it can not die. Spirit is eternal.

If you have a "conscience", then you have a soul......

Soul is your connection to your Higher Source(love/light).....and MANY(in this day and age) have severed that connection! :(

Here is how you will know that you have a soul, and God is real and waiting for you to go to Him.

If you ever have a problem in your life, instead of getting angry or stressed, ask God for help. Pray to Him and ask Him to heal your wounds and help you get through things.

You must follow God's word and will though, or else He will not use you to do good things, and He will not make your life better if you do not try to do what He wants for this earth and for peace and love and kindness.

Take time and meditate for 30 minutes to an hour...do it one night every day for 7 days...if you don't experience anything I'll give you $5.

This is EXACTLY what you should do to learn that you have a spirit/soul.

There are lots of methods, but mine is to observe how the mind wanders.
Don't take part in your thoughts; Just watch them. See how your mind flows freely from one subject to another. You'll find, after a while, that your mind grows fairly silent. Once you can get to this state fairly quickly (and this can be tough to grasp) observe the observer. No longer watch your mind's flow of thought: Watch the one who has been observing the mind.

Keep repeating this step over and over until enlightenment ohyeah

Re: im feeling inquisitive. im an atheist, prove to me i have a soul.
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." - Genesis 2:7 KJB

material body + God given spirit = living soul.

From the worldview of the Christian, man doesn't have a soul; man IS a soul.

I think what you are asking is "Where does the real ME play itself out?"

In my opinion here is the answer based on my Christian worldview: A byproduct of the body-spirit union is a realm called the "soulscape". The soulscape is an interiorized world inside the viscera and interfacing with the material world via the human sensory apparatus including the entirety of the skin as a tactile receptor. It is where the spirit inside the body "exists, roams, and otherwise lives out its life". Others "see" this phenomenon of life in the form of the "body's externally viewable language", IE its kinematics or bio-mechanics; movement, respiration, sweat, aging, speech, and other tokens of a "life inside there".

When surgeons open up or probe living tissue to try to find the soul, they are looking for the wrong thing and staring right at what they should be looking for.

Because of our limits of perception and even lack of needed additional sense, we can't see the soulscape "as it is". What we do see are organs, systems and other structures that relay a "message" about the soulscape - it is designed!

These visible objects COMPRISE the soulscape where the spirit IS living out its life.

But this material world and our physical bodies are subject to God's "rules of engagement" with the material and spiritual. Thus "by the rules of this engagement", the soulscape is "perceived" as a body of sensed complex information we call organs, systems, etc. Think of the bumps used in braille.

We "read the body" using our senses and "analyze" the information we get from those readings to deduce that "a life is in there somewhere".

Well...where is it? Aha! It is none of our business because blind folk (which is what we are essentially since the fall in the garden) do not have the "sensory security clearance" to "see the soulscape as it is". So we only see a blind man's version - scrambled viscera that has no bearing on the neatness and order of outward (outside the body) information...until you look deeper and see something new...a design!

Whatever life is, it has no design until you look deeper and then we conclude again that whatever life is, it is designed.

The technology of robotics is an example of a recreation of the "life spark" in the form of an outwardly manifested "animation" of a physically complex (where did you see that term earlier) system with its subsystems.

In conclusion all we can know about the soulscape is that it is a highly compacted and complex designed environment where the spirit lives inside a body and which we are only permitted to perceive as complexities of an internal design nature - point being, God did it. We can witness the information (in the form of the "message" of design) but we can't witness...IT!

Evolution takes the perception and repurposes it to escape the inevitable conclusion that life is associated with a design protocol meant to relay information about a designer. Evolution markets designlessness to life (not to form; evolution is all about forms and structures), death to the spirit, and chants "long live complex animations".

I could tell you more but not now. I got to do my laundry.

Hastily written, bad grammar, lacks continuity I know but I was in a hurry.

IMHO, a soul is the living meat suit. What makes the meat suit alive and not dead, it's the spirit. The spirit can continue away from the meat suit, but the soul is the meat suit that also contains the spirit.

..so to continue.
Opie, the fact that you are alive and are inhabiting a body makes you a "soul", whether you feel like beling alive is soulful or not. Now, a spirit is something different. IMO.

 Quoting: Indi Intro

It's a fact that every seven years or so, each and every cell in the human body is replaced. So if your body is say age 28, that would be a cell death and replacement four times since birth. Yet the essence of consciousness that makes you 'you' is still the same. Can you remember back to childhood? Staring out with awareness of yourself from a little body that in fact has long time been replaced? Essentially you are reincarnating throughout each lifetime from the cradle to the grave.

If you think about it, most of the body can be replaced with science/medicine these day (stem cell research), also if you were to lose any limb, ears, eyes, nose even some organs (transplants) - this would not effect the consciousness of 'you'. That's because the body is not you, like others have said - you are a soul and you have a body, not the other way around.

There are people who have had a donor organ transplanted and find they pick up new thoughts and habits which were related to the personality of the donor. This can be explained as stored energy/vibration of the personality of the soul who inhabited the body of the donor organ. This stored energy then releases into the body of the person who had the transplant. There are also many documented accounts of people who remember their previous lives - research on this kind of info can be helpful in gaining insight too.

If you can increase awareness of yourself as a non-physical energy sitting in the body behind the eyes as experiencer and observer, in time you will gain your own knowing. Practice of present moment awareness is very helpful in building this experience. There are links to mp3 downloads in the Spiritual Preparedness thread linked in my signature.

Good luck OP - if you are genuine in your intent to find truth of who you really are, you will experience what you wish with the right steps.hf

Is the such thing as the past? It is a time realm. All your infinitesimal duration instances of "the present" are locked in there, along with you.

It is your dwelling "place" once released from the space that is imploding from everywhere, toward everywhere as it is converting BACK into the default state as absolute kinetic, which is time, as all the past.

This, as the current of time floods spherically down and inward toward the ONE infinitely kinetic, infinitesimal singularity, in the form of all the past.

Your impressions into this, from conception to death, are distortions into this space along with radiations within your effective range caused by your disruption of space.

This is the "material" your so-called "soul" is made of that you will be time-dwelling within after your release (death).

You are partly correct, in that it is the Spirit that fills the "meat suit"! But not all "meat suits" have a Soul....

All meat suits have a spirit, but in order for them to have a Soul; they must be connected to God Source through a conscience.......which many are not! :(
