But remember the employer holds on to your holiday and sick pay.
So if you work there for 5 years and never take a day off, and have minimal holidays.
And the employer goes bust.
Good luck getting your money.
Sometimes governments step in and help people with entitlements.
But usually only with companies with over 50 employees.
Good luck getting all your entitlements if you work for a small company for 10 years and they go bust.

Oh wait, recently they made us take leave to make the overseas shareholders think that the company looks better. O_O This is why individual agreements are better. You can negotiate your own "new age" kind of award with the employer based on you. Ive done it several times and, gotten all my holiday sick and even super, in my hourly rate. When I proved to the employer I can take care of my own finances thanks, I don't need your hand holding. Believe it or not this hand holding thing, this "holding on" to your entitlements came about from the old days when people gambled and pissed their money up the wall. Then when they got sick or it was Christmas, they couldn't feed their families.
