check out this site. [link to simulator.down2earth.eu] Gives estimates for damage. a 400 meter rock hitting earth won't do shit. Doom over folks. I amped up the velocity of this model to 20km just for extra doom potential. Had the asteroid come in at a typical 45 degree angle and it hit the atlantic ocean just off the coast near New York. Damage minimal and possible tsunami of a couple inches to a foot.

I suggest you visit the Arizona meteorcrater website. The meteor that hit there was estimated to be only 150 feet wide and caused a crater 1 mile across, 2.5 miles in circumference and 550 feet deep. If you don't think an asteroid nearly 10x that size "won't do shit", then you are more ignorant than you appear...

i have also used a couple sim programs and highly overestimated speed and angle entrys, water depth, it wont do much at all going into the sea, a few higher than usual waves in a couple spots maybe that would be about it.

this ones not to bad on all info
