During the test, viewers will hear a message indicating that “This is a test.” Although the National EAS Test may resemble the periodic, monthly EAS tests that most Americans are already familiar with, there will be some differences in what viewers will see and hear, which is one reason for conducting a national EAS test. The audio message will be the same for all EAS Participants; however, due to limitations in the EAS, the video test message scroll may not be the same or indicate that “This is a test.” This is due to the use of a “live” national code – the same code that would be used in an actual emergency. Not too much of this as a coincidence? Yes, interesting these tests are on the 9th, not the 8th isn't it? The CPA to the Earth is around 6:30 pm EST on the 8th. Doesn't fit your conspiracy very well does it? CPA to the Moon is around 2:15 AM EST on the 9th. Another miss, just like all the ELEnin, Planet-X, Nibiru stuff. In fact, none of the ELE stuff predicted by all those YouTube 'Researchers' has worked out very well, has it? Last Edited by TBar1984 on 11/02/2011 03:44 AM |

TBar1984 (OP) User ID: 1537588 United States 11/02/2011 05:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's been 400 meters for almost a year. The 400 meter part has also been talked about on this forum for around a week. Cometwatch just found out about it, Typical. Quoting: TBar1984 Read about it here: [link to echo.jpl.nasa.gov] It's been known for 18+ months. Mr. Cartoonwatcher is giving Ninny Lieder a go for the money in the Never Get Anything Correct category. Press release from the PI on April 29, 2010: [link to www.pressoffice.cornell.edu] "Press Release FOR RELEASE: April 29, 2010 Contact: Blaine Friedlander Phone: (607) 254-8093 Email: [email protected] Arecibo telescope tracks ‘potentially dangerous’ asteroid within 1.5 million miles of Earth on April 19 ITHACA, N.Y. — A near-Earth asteroid named 2005 YU55 – on the list of potentially dangerous asteroids – was observed with the Arecibo Telescope’s planetary radar on April 19, 2010 when it was about 1.5 million miles from the Earth, which is about 6 times the distance to the moon, according to Michael Nolan, director of the Arecibo Observatory. The Arecibo telescope is located in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and it is managed by Cornell University on behalf of the National Science Foundation. Arecibo radar imaging of 2005 YU55 at 25-ft resolution showed that this asteroid is about 400 meters (1,300 feet) in size – about a quarter-mile long – and about twice as large as previously estimated." And another article: [link to www.jpl.nasa.gov] "Radar Clicks Asteroid's Pic April 29, 2010 Near-Earth asteroid 2005 YU55 was "imaged" by the Arecibo Radar Telescope in Puerto Rico on April 19. Data collected during Arecibo's observation of 2005 YU55 allowed the Near-Earth Object Program Office at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory to refine the space rock's orbit, allowing scientists to rule out any possibility of an Earth impact for the next 100 years. The space rock was about 2.3 million kilometers (1.5 million miles) from Earth at the time this image of the radar echo was generated. The ghostly image has a resolution of 7.5 meters (25 feet) per pixel. It reveals 2005 YU55 as a spherical object about 400 meters (1,300 feet) in size. Not only can the radar provide data on an asteroid's dimensions, but also on its exact location in space. Using Arecibo's high-precision radar astrometry capability, scientists were able to reduce orbit uncertainties for YU55 by 50 percent." If Mr. Cartoonwatcher and others want to fancy themselves "researchers", here's a clue: It helps to not be an ignoramus and actually know what you're talking about. Have fun. R. There's a couple of links I bookmarked. Nice. |

Our sun(&solar system) is orbitting the galaxy at 136 miles per second(47 billion miles per year) while our earth is orbiting the sun at 60,000 miles per hour. It's not a matter of if, but when our little blue dot either smashes with another object, gets hammered by a supernova or enters a black hole. Enjoy it while you can! |

Quoting: Aquarius58 The possibilities are endless. Ponder this one; a very long time ago little Sedna was a large Trans-Neptunian object that wandered in too close to the big boys. One day it made an inappropriate advance on Uranus who was so annoyed it tried to toss Sedna out of the system. The toss wasn't quite enough, Sedna is still around and Uranus was so exhausted all it can do is roll around on it's side. So, instead of becoming another Triton or Phoebe, Sedna is Doomed to wander around in an embarrassing orbit, all by itself, in the iciest part of the system. |
