X-Flare Will large earth directed CME disturb Yu55 orbit | |

As I understand it, a CME is what is responsible for breaking up Comet Elenin, so stands to reason that a strong earth directed CME could due some damage to a little asteroid like Yu55. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1209990 United States 11/03/2011 08:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I guess nobody wants to click on anymore Elenin or yu55 threads. Makes sense because every one I see anymore I just laugh at, and move on. Only problem is, maybe the one we quit worring about, is the one to fear. Whatever. Heads up. INCOMING!!!!!!! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1445602 United States 11/03/2011 08:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Basically the flare will ignite the meteor and cause it to flare 5x it's size, which will then put it off course into earth. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1445602 Okay. Lets say it does. How do we know it won`t cause it to hit the moon instead? We don't know and that's half the fun! I'd love to see an explosion on the moon |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1209990 United States 11/03/2011 08:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Space weather site is now saying YU55 is 200m wide. What happened to 400m? Quoting: YU55 size cut back 1659740 Funny because it was 175m, then last week 400m, and now cut in half again? Has anyone heard if it will be visible to the naked eye? I have heard seeing it will be a short window, since it is coming from the direction of the sun. Only one reason why I am worried about this one. To close to 11/11/11. Have been seeing that number way too much to rule it out as not being a possible relationship to the date. |
