NASA Downgrades Condition Code of Asteroid YU55 – Unsure of Trajectory
NASA tracks and has been tracking all near earth objects (NEO’s) and the data is reflected on NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab’s (JPL’s) website.

What is interesting is the NEO object designated 2005 YU55 has now has had a change in the ”condition code” in JPL’s data.

Yep. For months they were 100% certain of its trjectory and about a week ago, with it only days away, they all of a sudden became 'uncertain'! Not only that, theyre using the incredibly precise Goldstone telescope (which can see billions of miles into space!)to track this thing!

My guess is they know its gonna hit and this is their way of saying, 'Well we werent 100% sure it would miss, there was a slight chance it would hit, we just didn't know because there was uncertainty'

The Condition Code was 3 on Monday, it's NOW 2. That's NOT a Downgrade. Another Fail.

It was 0- not really a fail. And the projection near earth is about half of what it was.

Comparing the Old Data to the New gives a difference of 202 km in the YU55 position. That IS NOT about half of 324,935 km. Watch the video.

WRONG

In February 2010 it was rated 1 on the Torino Scale, indicating that a pass near the Earth is predicted that poses no unusual level of danger.
On 19 April 2010, highly accurate radar targeting by the Arecibo radio telescope reduced uncertainties about the orbit by 50 percent.[4]
This improvement eliminated any possibility of an impact with the Earth for the next 100 years.[4]
It was removed from the Sentry Risk Table on 22 April 2010 and and as such it now has a rating of 0 on the Torino Scale.

It's all posted in this thread Thread: YU55 Plot And JPL's Nov 1st Conference - The 'Twins' Vesta & Dembowska's Orbit
It starts Monday with the pre-Radar Elements and ends with yesterday's Goldstone Radar updated Elements. All the links are there.

condition code is 2

but the more then doubled last year and there are some sites list it at 175m some at 200m JPL now has it 400m
the size change came after the radar resualts in 2010.
space weather says 200m the link to JLP says 400m or .4 Km

Please take the time to watch the National Geographic special ASTEROID on Netflix.

RIP Gene Shoemaker. Died in "a car crash" soon after this was made.

It's coming much closer this time than last. That means they are going to receive much better data than last time. If they had kept the CC at 0, how would they 'improve' upon the old data with the 'better' data? They had to lower the 16 month old CC so they could use the new data to show improvement and keep the bean counters happy.

Think about it.

After the next round of Radar Observations, the CC will again be ZERO.
Count on it.
