Re: Vegetarianism in Respect to Reincarnation
Pythagoras (6th century B. C.), Greek philosopher and mathematician

“Everything that humans do to the animals comes back to them. The one who cuts the throat of a cow with a knife and remains deaf to the bellows of fear, the one who is able to slaughter the screaming little goat in cold blood and eat the bird which he himself has fed – how far is such a one still from crime?”

“The Earth lavishly provides abundant, peaceful food. And it ensures you foods that are free of murder and blood.”

Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910), Russian author:
“A human can be healthy without killing animals for food. Therefore if he eats meat he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite.”

Albert Einstein (1879-1955), physicist and Nobel Prize winner (1905), father of the theory of relativity:
“Nothing will increase the chances of survival for life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.”

“Purely through its physical effect on the human temperament, a vegetarian way of life would be able to influence the fate of mankind most positively.”

Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931), inventor of the light-bulb:
“I am a vegetarian as well as a passionate anti-alcoholic, because I can thus make better use of my brain.”

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900, German philosopher:
“Reason begins already in the kitchen.”

Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), Italian artist and universal genius:
“Man is truly the king of all animals, because his cruelty surpasses theirs. We live from the death of others. We are walking graves!”

“You have described man as the king of the animals – but I would say: king of the predators, among whom you are the greatest; for have you not killed them so that they serve to satisfy your palate, making you the grave of all animals? Does not nature produce enough vegetables with which you can sate yourself?”

“The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.” “The time will come when we will condemn the eating of animals just as today we condemn the eating of our own kind, the consuming of humans.”

“Already in my youngest years I swore off eating meat, and the time will come when like me the people will see the murderers of animals with the same eyes as they now see the murderers of humans.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882), American author and politician:
“You have just dined; and however scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the graceful distance of miles, there is complicity.”

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE FOLKS IF YOU GO DO YOUR RESEARCH.

YOU WILL FIND THE MOST BRILLIANT PEOPLE TO EVER WALK PLANET EARTH WERE ALMOST ALL VEGETARIANS!

CARL LEWIS THE OLYMPIAN WAS A VEGAN! UFC FIGHTERS AND NFL PLAYERS ARE VEGANS!

You all have been lied to and it is time to wake up!

i just wish you guys had the same passion for all the collective suffering as you do for my diet.

the question was life force and reincarnation.

i happen to feel that if it werent meant to happen it would never have been brought to our attention.

to me there is a behind the scenes agreement between us all and it is up to us to do the best we can. yes killing cows is intense, but that doesnt mean everything else isnt

Re: Vegetarianism in Respect to Reincarnation
Is it wrong to consume meats of other living creatures? A lot of great minds were vegetarian for this reason.
 Quoting: Cunninglingerer

I dont necessarily think eating meat is wrong. I don't eat meat for many health reasons. As I've become more spiritual over the last few months I definitely can understand why many don't eat meat because of reincarnation. I do a lot of research on DNA, genes, and mind control over expression so I also believe the horrible way the animals are treated at times can really lead to toxic meat.

Watch this video on water and emotion and how human emotion can alter the structure of water (scientific research has been performed)

Our bodies are the majority water, as other animals bodies are as well. If these animals are treated poorly, fed hormones, and in general have an unhealthy lives, there DNA will be damage and our bodies will not know how to properly break down those particular unknown proteins...I could go on for hours about DNA and genetic expression being altered by various foods/environmental stimuli. We really don't realize what we put in our body can have an effect on us like we could never imagine...we truly are what we eat.

Anyone who believes that in the bigger picture it is crucial what you eat is on a very low plain of consciousness.

All is one. All is life.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1286514

Tell that to all the great yogis, swamis and spiritual masters who walked the earth and understood higher consciousness means not harming other living beings (among other things).

But I agree that all is one and all is life.

Re: Vegetarianism in Respect to Reincarnation
alot of people become vegetarian yo reduce 'suffering'. all these ppl spouting 'plants are alive' bs are taking that out of context. those studies also go on to say the plants responded favourably to thoughts of being picked and eaten. as opposed to negatively when thoughts of hurting the plant/wasting the plant were imposed. also, as has been said animals require massive amounts of plants to produce a relatively small amount of meat - so by becoming vegetarian you are reducing suffering, period.

Re: Vegetarianism in Respect to Reincarnation
the grass grows back, the cow reincarnates. we are arguing diet while both have been tampered with to the point of everything being bad for you.

the issue is eating in general and therein lies my beef.

until we relearn that eating may not even be necessary, i think we should eat what makes us happy because pretty soon we wont even be able to do that.

Re: Vegetarianism in Respect to Reincarnation
I hate to think anyone would have to face all the creatures who's souls wound up on their dinner plates. Catastrophic to say the least.

Most are so desensitized to what they are actually doing, which is borderline neanderthal.

I mean imagine the process of killing and cooking and devouring a harmless loving chicken ,it's so vicious and unnecessary.

At least in most corners of the globe there are alternative choices. "Choice," being the operative word.

Yes, eating meat is one of the biggest cover-ups in the history of the human race.

Bibles were edited to include animal sacrifice, and the real historical Jesus taught that eating meat was breaking the covenant and that it had been added to the Bible by the lying pen of the scribes (Jeremiah 8:8)

OP you need to stop eating meat ASAP, you will go through withdraw for about a week and then feel amazing. Adopt a raw living diet of fresh fruits and veggies. I guarantee you after a month or 2 you your paradigm will explode in ways you cannot even begin to imagine.

Bibles were edited to included animal sacrifices??? Yeah right because the jewish people didn't write the OT....rolleyes

Guess these are the lying scribes again...

Gen 9:3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

Roman's 14:2 One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.

Not that I disagree that a vege diet is better for you energetically...but I'd have to eat constantly to keep up with my cal requirements.

I don't eat meat and i think not that it IS wrong but
if you are growing in consciousness then you FEEL that
it can't be good for your vibration and you are hurting
other creatures....
If I should say it is wrong then i put a label on it and
I think that everybody is free to choose if she or he
wants to eat meet....

Just feel how it feels after you eat meat.....
And do that with other food too....
Notice the difference of the feeling in your body....
Meat is very heavy and if you are eating fruit that's
very light and your body has much much more energy after
eating some fruit.....

The time when I did eat meat I always had the feeling of
laying down after such a big and heavy meal...

Look for yourself and maybe I have given a little bit
clarity about your question.....?

I agree. I used to be a real meat eater. Love meat! But as I meditated and grew in understanding meat became repugnant to me. I mean I literally feel sick to my stomach at the thought of eating meat. This is not a conscious choice! One day I just looked at meat and knew I could not longer eat it, even though I did not associate it with any belief system. I just could not do it anymore. No one was more surprised about this happening to me than I was, lol. It is very weird but there is nothing I can do about it. I could not eat meat again even if my very life depended on it. Still don't really understand it all.

Its so interesting how many people come to vegetarianism. I always had an aversion to meat as a child, and ate it because I had to as a kid. In college I had more choices and found out that I always just ate veggies even if I put meat on the plate I wouldn't eat it. At 25, I now don't eat meat at all and its been one of the best decisions I've ever made about my health.

Many people come to this conclusion on their paths to enlightenment. :)

Uh yea, your AMERICAN Bible says that In Genesis 3:9, and it is well known among historians and the informed that Paul of Tarsus was the arch-enemy of Peter, James, and John.

If you d spent more time actually getting your dumbass informed rather then rolling your eyes at me you would know these things, and you would be well aware that the christians church admits that Jesus and his Apostles and early followers were all vegetarians, this is not even debatable!

What, because Paul wrote Genesis back in 1492???

Just for you....rolleyes

Did I even say Jesus and the disciples were not veges or that it did not work better for you energetically?

Even then.... [link to lavistachurchofchrist.org] The New Testament records that Jesus did eat the Passover feast, which would include the eating of the roasted lamb (Luke 22:14-15). In fact, before the last Passover meal, Jesus specifically instructs his disciples to prepare the meal, including the lamb, for their observance.

"Then came the first day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. And Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it."" (Luke 22:7-8)

Not only did Jesus eat lamb, but he also ate fish. "But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, 'Have you any food here?' So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. And He took it and ate in their presence" (Luke 24:41-43).

If science is true and everything is energy, and matter is just vibrating electricity, and everything that crosses our senses, including everything we put into our mouths for digestion, is information - then you could see that experimenting with various changes in your information stream definitely does affect your own body of electricity - it becomes obvious, even the subtle changes. You'll start thinking of the paint color on your walls as information, the frequency of the waves coming from the television, the commercials, the tone of their voices - the conversations and people you surround yourself with, all information that you are either consciously, subconsciously, or even compulsively programming your frequency with every day. Of course food is a huge one.

Aren't plants living things too? I fail to see the difference.
I've lived next to many big trees in the past, and to me it seems like they also have a soul...

The thing I don't get though is veggies generally act smug towards meat eaters... can't you just do what you do, and I do what I do?

Re: Vegetarianism in Respect to Reincarnation
Exactly that. Looking back now, the thought of eating flesh (why call it meat, it's flesh), makes me feel sick, and when I think back to that time it's as if I was a child that knew no better. Anyone who still does this is a young soul still developing.
 Quoting: Tess 4750469

That last part is not true (the bolded part). I know of one highly evolved spiritual teacher of metaphysics who eats the meat from the cows and pigs that he has on his 1500 acre farm. I know of others who are very spiritually advanced in soul development (possibly their last lifetime) who eat meat or have eaten meat in their lives.

Just wanted to point that out. I believe in vegetarianism and more so veganism, personally.
