Okay, look, you idiots. He assumes that the distance from the object to the Earth is linear, because their trajectories can be approximated by linear functions. This is stupid. Consider a straight line going by a point. The distance from the line to the point gets smaller and smaller, but it slows down. Eventually the distance from the line to the point isn't even changing! AND THEN THE OBJECT GETS FARTHER AWAY.

Notwithstanding the assumption that the trajectories are linear, this analysis ASSUMES THE OBJECT PASSES THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE EARTH. Otherwise the assumption that the distance is a linear function of time is bunkum.

Please stop believing this shit. If you use a model that assumes linear trajectories and modifies the data so that a best fit line fits a straight trajectory past Earth, not only does the Earth stay at the distance claimed from the Earth, but the regression fits, with an r^2=0.99997. The data from JPL shows approach speed decaying much faster BECAUSE THE OBJECT IS NOT GOING TO HIT THE EARTH.

Yeah, it's apparently been up and down all day, probably overloaded with hits. I'm trying to get HORIZONS to work, but it seems rather overloaded. Even when it works it's painfully slow.

Actually we first figured the moon's gravity by examining how it affected the motion of the earth, by measuring how far away the earth-moon barycenter is from the center of the earth. That's been known for a long, long time now. Try to keep up.

A couple of way too many degrees? What is that even supposed to mean? There's nothing wrong with the moon's motion in the JPL sim, in fact it looks almost exactly like my sim.

Yeah, JPL HORIZONS was working very slow for me and occasionally going down. Keep trying. They seem to be overloaded at the moment.

NASA was wrongs big time..Saying we would not see the what (D) metier shower..What ever the name of that shower was..One of the metiers flew by in Columbia MD and VA..and that was not suppose to happen
