Today is the same day that the Bible tells us GOD CLOSED THE DOOR to NOAH'S ARK! | |

Genesis 7:11 tells us "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." Since Rosh Hoshana (the Hebrew New Year) began on September 29 this year with the new moon, then this is the "second month". The "seventeenth day" of the "second month" would then be November 14th (since this month began with the new moon on October 28). Now that that date is established as the day in history when the Great Deluge began, look back at the start of chapter 7 in Genesis. Verse 1 tells us that God commanded Noah to enter the ark and verse 4 states as follows "For YET seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights...". Verse 16 goes on to say that the same day that Noah entered the ark with his family and the animals "God shut him in"! That said, we can know from scripture that the flood began on the seventeenth day of the second month and that Noah and his family were shut into the ark 7 days PRIOR to that day...which would make today the anniversary of that date! First of all, God told the Israelites when they had crossed the Red Sea, leaving Egypt, "THIS will be the FIRST MONTH FOR YOU". Prior to that (and in Noah's time), the first month was in the fall. Also, reading the story of Noah, he was instructed to load the ark with "provender" and foods for the people and the animals. This could not have been done in the spring, for the harvests had not even started to mature,,,,but in the fall, Noah would have access to the fall crops in order to do this......  AKA Auntie Arnie |
